    Theme Question.

Could a theme be created that looked like this? http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=80...&q=mame&pl=true Notice how the pictures change when flipping from horizonal to verticle games.
  2. ^ and v symbols by each emulator to let you reorder them without having to export/import them, or edit ini files by hand. Or even a config option to sort emulated list.
  3. http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=28321.0 is where buddabing first announced it. http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?...92074#msg492074 is where he updated it to xml support. http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=36762.0 talks about a .net version. http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=35694.0 some other stuff on the .net version. It is a cool little utility that lets you give it a query and it produces a list of games in one of several formats. It's super quick, small and open source. Uses SQLlite libaray. http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=30189.0 is an example of a small 10ish line bat file that enables you to do on the fly list generation in mamewah. Ie you are on arkanoid in the frontend, hit a button that loads this batch file, it finds you all games like arkanoid in catver.ini. I realize you already have a feature sortof like this in gameex, but it just shows how flexable it is.
  4. Any chance of adding ListGen support to the mame sections. It would be really awesome to be able to add my own queries and be able to easily create my own sections. examples vertical trackball games horizontal trackball games (not including clones) horizontal trackball games (including clones) vertical spinner games horizontal spinner games (not including clones) horizontal spinner games (including clones) Listgen does a wonderful job of generating every kind of list you could think of quickly.
  5. This seems to have been a wierd driver problem, I reset my display driver to generic vga, I wiped all my video drivers from \windows\system32\drivers, loaded newiest ati driver, and works fine.
  6. There seems to be a small bug where when you go into favorites by system, drill down to a system, then back back out, only the first and the system you just selected remain in the list.
  7. Mamewah has this ability, and I love it. I think gameex used to have this feature, but it somehow got broken/removed. Mamawah had another cool feature where it's screensaver at random just played movies/displayed snapshots. You could set it to when you exit the screen saver it was positioned at the last game shown, so you could just hit select to play that game. I really miss that feature.
  8. I was having trouble getting to sleep last night, and some reason this popped into my head, I started to get up and post it last night, but said no, I'll sleep on it and if it still seems like a good idea tomorrow, I'll post it.
  9. How about a favorites mode, where each emulator/section you go into shows just your favorites for that section with a link or button show all. 90+% of the time I want to play my 5 or 6 favorite genesis games, 8 or 10 favorite nes games, 6 or 7 favorite pinball games, 15 to 20 favorite mame games, etc. While favorites is great as it is, if I put my favorites from each section I get 100+ games, and going through 5 or 6 screens of favorites becomes sortof a pain. This would also be a pretty eligant way to handle the request people have made for folders in favorites. I also think it would be sortof cool that when friends are over and say something like to bad you don't have xyz you could hit oh, go to mame and hit the green button. You really want to get carried away, have an all/favorites/most played toggle that cycled through the 3 lists in each section.
  10. 5.82 didn't fix it.
  11. I did, it just bugged me, that it didn't work.
  12. Here is what it does, it fades in and out. I was hitting select and back, rather quickly due to the short time my cell phone will record video. Sorry it's so crappy, I didn't have time to get out real video camera, and wasn't sure how to capture video of it from windows xp. 03_15_06_1854.zip
  13. I'll try it tonight, and let you know. I didn't think a 2600+ was considered slow already. ;-(
  14. I have 5.81 downloaded last night, and the mce glossy skin, I guess the latest, wouldn't it get overwritten with a new version every install? I had had a gf2 gts card in this machine till last week, and figured I should stick a better card in since I was given a used ati 9600xt card. I figured it should be more than fast enough to do 3d menus on a 2600+ amd cpu. It seems to be just cutting off and new one cutting back on with a few seconds in between, transition is mostly not there, it does flicker a little. I just thougt I would throw it out and see if anyone else had the problem before I started changing drivers/etc to see if I could get it to go away. I'll be happy to provide you with any more info you need when I get home tonight and am infront of the machine itself. Maybe find someway to capture an avi of it in action.
  15. I enabled the 3d menus and advanced graphics on my cabinet with an ATI Radeon 9600xt with the latest non beta drivers, and when you change menus the menus disapear instead of scrowling right , then reapear. On my other machine with a gf 5800 they scrowl smoothly off to the right then back on. Are there certain versions of ati's drivers/resolutions that work better than others?
  16. Should this work or am I shooting up the wrong tree?

    Dual Controls

Cool cabinet, think if I had gone to the trouble to put dual displays, I'd have put 2 pc's inside and networked them where you could play 2 different games if you wanted to, and use one of the networked mame versions to play 2 player head to head games.

    Dual Controls

Well I don't have a mouse, it's a trackball, built into my control panel. I could reassign the mouse button with some software, but it would be cool if the frontend could do it for me. My trackball/mouse buttons are side by side, actually 3 sets, one left, one right, one in front of the trackball, depending on the game, would just be cool if which ever set of buttons you happened to be using could all work the same way. IE, button on left is select, button on right takes you back a level. Right now, mouse 2 does nothing, you have to reach across the console and find player 1 button 2, or scroll the mouse up to the back button.

    Dual Controls

I'd like mouse 1 to be select currently highlighted item, no matter where the mouse is, and mouse 2 to be previous/back no matter where the cursor is. I have player 1 button 1 mapped to select, and player 1 button 2 mapped to back. It would be nice if the 2 mouse buttons acted the same way. Mainly it's mouse 2 that I'd like mapped to back as well as the player 2 buttons.

    Dual Controls

I'd like this as well, also being able to map my mouse 1/mouse 2 buttons to select and back would be nice.
  21. I can't seem to get this to work, I have 40 or so pc games setup as links configured as below. No matter what I do if I pick create snaps with any option, gameex seems to exit to the desktop, but is running in the background, but doesn't show up in the application list of taskmanager, but is in the process list just sitting there taking up memory, but I can't switch to it. Takes no pictures, just sits there. I'm most likely doing something stupid, but am stuck. 22. Love that you seperated the emulators out, instead of one - five. Can you label the buttons with a hint of the emulator that they go with? Maybe put the exe name in (), or the description in () and (empty) or (blank) in ones with no emulator. You also could just put bubble help to show you a summary about what's behind the button when you hover over it. I always forget if pinball in 3 or 4.
