Ok with the talk of discontinuing my Gameroom theme I figured I better show you guys a sneek peek of what the updated themes will look like. Just so you know that the new improved themes will look more polished I think! [uPDATE] - Revised the background graphics. - Change the Bally/Wulff logo to the Bally Midway logo. - Added the "A LASER VIDEO SYSTEM" logo.

[THEME PACKS] >>> Gameroom Themes <<<
Krakerman replied to Krakerman's topic in GameEx Media Projects
If you guys want to do that then go ahead and ask him and I'll wait before deleting them until you hear back from him. As for me I am moving forward with my new theme. I really don't think you guys will care that much about it after I get these themes remade for the new theme. Do you guys like the new look of the new system menus or prefer the older one? One of the main upgrades to the new theme is there are no more text based lists. Which has a much more significant advantages and creativity that I can implement into the new theme. Maybe you guys have the impression that the MAME themes will change drastically that just isn't true as I am planning on keeping the spirit of those themes just have to revise them that's all. I think you will like it better. For now I will keep the links to the theme packs up for at least for a few weeks unless Tom or anyone else wants to host them somewhere else. If I don't hear back about this then they will go bye bye sorry!! -
[THEME PACKS] >>> Gameroom Themes <<<
Krakerman replied to Krakerman's topic in GameEx Media Projects
Answer your first ? Yes, in a few days I will be removing all the theme packs so get'em while you can!! Second ? Yes they will still work but why use those when I will be releasing updated ones. If you like that theme then I would just keep that theme until I release the updated version. I included the framework files so anyone else wanting to continue making additional themes could but I just don't have the time or will to do both. -

As of today (5/23/13) ... I will no longer be making anymore themes for the Gameroom. -
For those that have Pinnacle Game Profiler I asked the programmer if it's possible to assign any key to the XBOX360 guide button then when you press it again have it send a different key and he replied YES!!! So it is possible to make the guide button Launch a emulator then press it again to return to GameEx!! (You can even change the LED colors too!!) Here is what he said: Yea, you could do that... first I will say that the GUIDE button behaves just like any other button in Pinnacle Game Profiler. So you could do this with any button on the controller. First you would assign a "shift-mode button", and then you'll likely want to assign the "sticky button" behavior (otherwise you have to keep the button held to remain in the shift-mode). You can also assign a command to a "shift-mode button", so you can assign ESC in your unshifted layout, and then assign ENTER in your shifted layout. A setup like that would make it so that pressing the button once would send the ESC key and move to the shifted layout, thus pressing it again would send the ENTER key that you assigned in the shifted layout and that would also "un-stick" the shift-mode button to return to the unshifted state. PGP is awesome!!

Been talking with the guys over at C64 Forever and they are going to implement an Exit to desktop option in both C64/Amiga Forever soon! When they do that we won't need the advanced config anymore. Those guys are awesome as they have replied to all my e-mails right away. Awesome support!!

Yeah Yeah Yeah ...... Here you go! Interesting Texture memory -77mb ??? Just check that option for yourself and you will see what I'm talking about first hand!
-
Thanks Tom! I had a feeling I needed to edit the XML files as I was just looking at those after I posted.
-
Noticed the backglass for Big Game is Revenge From Mars in the Media folder??? Not quite sure on how to setup more tables? or is this not available yet... I setup the table folders but only the 3 tables are available.

If anyone uses the static start page list and have a dozen or so emulators setup it should happen to them as well it's not a single person issue. Tis the reason I didn't attach any log as it doesn't show anything that I've seen.
-
I honestly don't think the log would have anything to do with this as it's an internal GameEx issue. Everything appears to work fine it's just that the menu doesn't return to the correct postion. Here is a snap to show you what I'm talking about. See everything above Bally Astrocade when you select them and exit back it returns back to Baslly Astrocade. However AStrocader and below returns back to the emulator you chose. So if you press Fairchild Channel F and exit back it returns to the Fairchild Channel F selection like it should and not back to Bally Astrocade. So image 1 is Bally Astrocade and when I scrolled up to Atari 2600 and select it and goes the the Atari 2600 games list and exit back to the system slections it defaults back to Bally Astrocade when it should stay at Atari 2600. This only happens with Static Start Page Lists.
-
It appears that when you check this in the Theme Editor and you scroll thru the top potion of the list and exit back it will return to the middle however if you uncheck it and do the same it returns to the emulator you selected. I think this might be a bug that needs to be fixed as it would be nice to exit out and return to the system you originally selected instead of returning to the middle. Everything below the middle works correctly as it returns to the selected emulator only the top half of the list. Strange!

Notes: - These system themes makes use of Hyperspin's frontend Wheel Art for each game title (such as the Atari 2600 cart images) which you can obtain if your a member of there community. I will not be releasing any of them in consideration of the artists who made them or you can create your own!! There are other places to find good wheel art as well try Google. - To use the wheel art for each title you'll need to use GameEx's setup wizard and point your wheel art to each emulators Box Art Path. Then create a Custom Art path for your box images. To take it a step further you can use the setup wizard to change the custom text that displays the word Box and change it to Wheel Art or whatever other name you want. - Font used for this theme was the Trebuchet MS (size 34). - Each filename of the systems ini file might be different then what you have on your setup so you may need to just copy and paste what data I have for those systems to yours so everything lines up correctly. - Enjoy!
