Ahh yes, was playing with a quick vbs to create all the zips and package the rom zips together. Then I dawned on me you really don't have the same method for building your mame list. There is no option to "Use 7zip". I assume you import the mame list and check for the existence of the roms. Right, eventually Ill be up to speed.

Thanks again Tom. No I was trying to say multiple parallel zips. As opposed to zipping all your roms in a single zip. I am excited about this capability. This allows layered categorization of roms. As in I had suggested before using mame's "Parent rom" data to organize roms into trees the way MameUI does. I would like to see only parent roms in the main mame list, and the list of rom flavors on the Game Info screen, with the parent at the top. With zips I could write a vbs to read the mame info and zip them by parent. Or someone could choose another slice such as game type. But if you do that you will lose the nice layout of associated art for each rom. Does this sound sensible to you Tom?

Is anyone else using multiple roms-tables inside multiple zips? Do you choose a zip on the selection screen then choose a rom-table on the game info screen? I have been fiddling with every setting I can think of and I am not sure of the issue.

Embrace the love! Do not fear it...

HK have I mentioned how hot your stuff is? I do think i found a bug tho. I am parsing the latest FP, I noticed all of them have at least one flyer now, so my thought was I would change the filter to flyer on the second pass. I found that regardless of the filter word it grabs the first jpg in the root of the zip. Take alladens castle and airport as examples. Airport is a single version zip and always outputs a snapshot. Aladdin's castle is a multi version zip and always grabs a flyer from the root of the zip. The behavior is the same regardless of filter and only extract newest settings.

I checked it out. First Tom I noticed your process flattens the zip. If there are multiple file of the exact same filename how do you handle it? ASCII alpha? or do you test for the newest? Second I don't know what you are referring to with the game info page. It unpacked 2 *.vpt files but the game info screen only has Play game and Add to Fav. What do I have different?

Look in the Setup Wizard

John Coulton, I should have known. Search for some of his other music. You will love it. I recommend First of May

OK, the IPAC is a Keyboard encoder, not a gamepad encoder. Keep that in mind when dealing with it. I just checked, the default key seems to be question mark -?- . If you want to change the key used go into GameEx setup, Keyboard input, enable custom, and set it to whatever you want. Or you could program the ipac to gen whatever keystroke you want.

Go into your key config or button config, depending if you are using a keyboard or gamepad device. In there it will list your page key. Hold that down while you move the stick. UD is alpha page and LR is screen page. ( or visa versa ) I am at work right now and cant check. On another note, one of the things I have been meaning to do is use Xpadder or another macro tools to send [pagekey] UD LR combos when using joystick 2. It is easier for guests to remember than which button to hold.

I am starting work on setting up C64 games in GameEx. I noticed there are several emulators out in the wild. So I don't waste hours comparing all of them, what C64 do you run and why? What is the most reliable? Has good support? Easily scripts into GameEx?

Wow, just wow. You have completely covered what I was thinking about scripting. Inside and out. We need to pay you more. Actually what we need is a sticky with links to very important threads like this. Searching the form has put bruises on my head. A sticky to every one of your hot little projects, and other goodies to make them easy to find. And yes I am talking about the same source. Really? I have the game info page active, does yours give you a list of versions in the zip? Are yours all at the root of the zip, or in subfolders inside the zip as mine are? I will clear my dir and put one zip in for testing, and see if I can figure it out. While I like the idea of having it work without making changes ( and being able to check older versions ), HKs tool would shrink the excess HD size and entries in the list. Having multiple versions is also nice because some tables such as Medieval Madness have a couple of production versions built, and there are tables that emulate each.

I am working on setting up Future Pinball this morning. The way I receive updated table packages is in Zip files structured as: Abra Ca Dabra (Williams - 1975).zip - v 1.0 -- Abra Ca Dabra 1.1.fpt -- Abra Ca Dabra snap.png -- Abra Ca Dabra Flyer.png -- Abra Ca Dabra 1.1.txt - v 1.5 -- Abra Ca Dabra 1.5.fpt -- Abra Ca Dabra snap.png -- Abra Ca Dabra Flyer.png -- Abra Ca Dabra 1.5.txt The filter is *.fpt Wit zip functionality in GameEx, I drop the zips in and each one is showing up once in the game list. 1) Is there a way to show more than one rom-table contained in the same zip? 2) If not, which of the two is it running when I choose the game? And can I control it? 3) I think I have seen this before but, Has any one found a way to have GameEx recurse through several folders deep to enumerate all the roms-tables? I.E. If I ran a job to unzip all the hundred zips to a folder structure. My goal is to have a fairly simple method to update my table sets.

Your plugin works well for me. Thanks HK. You are either not running the plugin, or it is bombing out. In addition to checking the log to see if it errored, are you sure the plugin is active and marked to load. The reason everything else seems to work is you are probably in analog mode on the sticks, mame is most likely doing its own analog translation, which is not bad.

I am a little new at MAME, how do you output the performance benchmark that you are quoting for individual roms? I have not yet delved into Project64, heard of it but have been working os PS PS2 first. Could you pm me with a link or two for your sources. FYI, full list refresh, on all .122 roms and CHDs in GameEx runs under 2s.

We got 2 new Dell PowerEdge R900 servers fully loaded at work. They will be used to host VMware Vitrual servers, but for giggles I loaded XP64 on it. Had some funkiness with drivers. But I put my GameEx image with full mame32 v122 and all the avi snaps I have. http://www.dell.com/content/products/produ...;l=en&s=biz The 4 Quad Xeon proc are nice but it does not take advantage of it. But it is fully loaded with 128GB of DDR. I preloaded the whole installation in memory. It plays a mean game of pac man. It runs so fast the emu is fully loaded and running when you touch the button. Actually I think it is so fast it may have started and been running before I clicked and it actually defying time itself. KI2 started so fast I could not time it. I would say >0.25 sec.

My GameEx is in a nonstanderd folder and the updater seems to work fine?
-
Maybe even though gameex is visible it might not have focus. When is comes out of power saver use alt-tab to select gameex, and see if that fixes the inputs. It is not a solution, but it might explain it.

Yes lots of Kudos to Ben. Will v2 themes still work?

Well I guess as long as we are way the hell off any topic I dreamed have 4 dogs & I was buying a large bag of Purina at Wal-Mart and was in line to check out. A woman behind me asked if I had a dog. On impulse, I told her that no, I was starting The Purina Diet again, although I probably shouldn't because I'd ended up in the hospital last time, but that I'd lost 50 pounds before I awakened in an intensive care ward with tubes coming out of most of my orifices and IVs in both arms. I told her that it was essentially a perfect diet and that the way that it works is to load your pants pockets with Purina nuggets and simply eat one or two every time you feel hungry & that the food is nutritionally complete so I was going to try it again. I have to mention here that practically everyone in the line was by now enthralled with my story, particularly a guy who was behind her. Horrified, she asked if I'd ended up in the hospital in that condition because I had been poisoned. I told her no; it was because I'd been sitting in the street licking my ass and a car hit me.

Does anyone here own a original BetaBrite that can compaire for me?

Working like a charm. You are my hero Now it takes about 4 seconds after sending for the sign to start the message. I also noticed this behavior in the app that was shipped with the Prism. Do the serial versions have faster response? And second, can I talk you into adding additional color codes? Does this require bribery?

Hey head, you uploaded the wrong project

First that is the video of the v3 themes being developed, not all of the features are available in the current version. See the v3 post on this board. Second you need the movies to show them. Head over to http://www.emumovies.com/arcade.html, donate, and make some hard drive space. Third put them in your mame avi folder and make sure your avi paths in gameex point to it.
