  1. Hi, I just did the update to Arcade Edition after not updating since 15.10 and I initially had some video weirdness going on. I remembered this post by Tom a few months ago and went back and unchecked what he suggested in the LAV video settings. The issues went away for me. Just a suggestion for something to try.
  2. Yes, I've pretty much been resolving myself to go into settings each update on this. If this could be corrected that'd be awesome! ...btw several months ago I mentioned in one of the "Social Club" threads about having crashes in Arcade Edition after upgrading to the Creator's Edition of Windows 10. Adding the LAV codecs seems to have solved that, as the crashes were video related it seemed. Glad I was able to solve that w/o opening a thread. Lurking here for a while definitely helps with insight on troubleshooting.
  3. Awesome!!! I love that case. I got the Firecuda drive, as well, back in February when I built my MAME machine. There was a killer deal on it. My boot is a Crucial SSD. GameEx Arcade runs seamlessly on it. When I got it, I figured the hybrid feature would begin to remember files such as my EmuMovies stuff and load it faster. The IT guy at work, though, said that hybrid feature only really begins to show itself when the drive is used as a boot drive. So I'm not sure if I'm getting any advantage from it as a storage drive. Oh well, it was a killer deal anyway. Again, great build! I'm envious.
  4. New annoying popup for hitting Windows +G to get an array of crap I don't need during every game launch. Need to figure out how to get rid of that. Also, GameEx Arcade is now unstable and freezes either launching a game or within menu randomly. Used to be able to edit my raster.ini file w/o issues. Now it makes GameEx Arcade unstable. I've copied my backups back to my C: drive but I still get freezes with it going through "All Games" and "Genres" menus. When I can better put a finger on it I'll form a post describing what's up. It's sort of the classic computer troubleshooting question -- "What did you do before you had this problem?". What I did was upgraded to 1709. What prompted the crashes was innocently adjusting my raster.ini file. Maybe notepad is doing something now to the files? I'm at a loss at this point.

Yeah I haven't been in Shaumburg for ages. Love the upscaleness of the place. Drag that they charge you to game, though. Maybe their food and drink stuff is pricey enough as is. It is suburb Chi. after all.
  6. Yeah I went w/ the 1060 6gb upgrade several months ago to replace my failing gtx560. It's running my 1440p monitor in highest gaming settings 60fps just fine. Draws less power than the obsolete 560, too. Go figure. And congrats, RedDog , on pulling the trigger! I love putting new boxes together. Last one was this i5 Kaby Lake that I threw together for my upright cab. It's been doing great w/ MAME and Windows 10 (yeah this is my first Win 10 box, too). And even runs HLSL just fine w/ the onboard video. I thought at first that I overbuilt for a MAME cabinet, but with the SSD boot and the newish i5 it loads GameEx like a charm and seems to keep up with all the CHD games I've tried so far.
  7. Great read. For some reason I really loved Donkey Kong 3 and shoved loads of tokens/quarters into that box. I think because it was a shooter. I gravitated towards the shooters at the time. I also remember when original Mario Bros. arrived. That game, while relatively boring by today's standards, innovated gameplay at the time.
  8. They are about as solid as you can get (commercial grade). For the dedicated 4-way one I wish it was a ball type handle rather than the bat. The purpose of that one is for games like Pac Man, etc. And that would make the game feel more authentic, IMO. I'm sure I could swap it out and the Xtension folks could help along the way. But it's only a few months old and I don't want to go and start voiding the warranty right away. I put a real functioning coin door on it, too, but that's not wired in yet either. Still looks great with the glowing red coin slot!
  9. Yes, RedDog, it is. . Nice to see some local support. Hope you got through the Irma stuff OK.
  10. Hi everyone, Just wanted to say hello and let everyone here know how much I appreciate the GameEx front end. I am using the Arcade Edition and have it customized with the wonderful Draconus theme -- couldn't be happier! Thanks again. You all are super cool.
Hey thanks so much for your work on this! I'm so glad to add this to my setup. I customized the sounds to my liking. Your background of the dark lit arcade really goes great when you use the arcade ambience background.
