  1. Welp, still no dice.. I can create the .lnk files and see them in GameEx as a Visual Pinball Table List using those settings, yet they go to Black Screen and do nothing but exit on ESC. ROM and Working Path are both the same: Z:\Visual Pinball\Table LNKs Command Line is just as suggested: "[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]"
  2. Hmmm, followed these steps exactly and I get an 'Error loading File' on execute of tables in GameEx. Sticks in black screen and won't exit or return to menu this way. Is that the full Command Line you are using, or did you simply paste the {rom}-{rom} part of the line?

Just tried the Shark007 Vista Codec Pack in WindowsXP... .avi files work fine now.
  4. It was working fine for me as well up until a few patches ago.. how did you go about setting up the files to VP in .lnk format?
  5. I recently found a bug I did not notice before (just added Visual Pinball to this cab). Seems that after every loading of a pinball table, once I return to the Visual Pinball Table List, if I try to select another table to play, or replay the last table, the menu jumps right back to the GameEx Start Page. The issue here is that now I have to navigate back to the Visual Pinball Menu, re-scroll down through the list to the next game desired, then it plays fine again.. *repeat above* Any reason for this as the tables load and play, GameEx has not been changed and the list is not being updated or the like?
  6. I have tried the many fixes presented here and still find my HQ and SQ vids from EMUMovies staggering about every 5-7 seconds. The stagger is not a system error, as the video seems to be running during these 2-3 second halts, only to suddenly 'catch up' and show the avi snap running at the moment after the halt times out. This never happened on any of my systems up until 3(?) GameEX versions ago??? Wonder what is happening here. -2.8 Duo, 4GB ram, SATA, Win XP- WAIT...... Found something that is working. ffdshow_rev2301_20081105_clsid version of FFDShow is causing NO delay in avi snaps of any kind. Seems to work just fine once more with this version.
  7. My command lines are built off the DaphneLoader, yes. (i.e.) Daphne Options: vldp -fullscreen -x 640 -y 480 -nohwaccel -sound_buffer 4096 (i.e.) Daphne RB Options: -framefile Z:\Daphne\Framefile\Road_Blaster_Framefile.txt Edit - Using that CLine gives me a blank screen then quick return to the GameEx Menu. I mod them in GameEx as needed. I will try your line (made to match my formats) and see if that helps.
  8. Well, tried a number of different line commands, still no go on Road Blaster running in the GameEx Menu launch, yet it runs fine in DaphneLoader outside of GameEx.
  9. Sadly the command line does nothing to aid us.. And I'm on WinXP, but I hear the Vista issues are a-plenty, hence why you won't catch me using that blasted code.
  10. The command lines are the same for DaphneLoader as well as the GameEx config: -framefile Z:\Daphne\Framefile\Road_Blaster_Framefile.txt Both the ROM and the FrameFile are correct since it plays outside of GameEx. Wait.. this is iffy: (taken from Daphne Log) --DAPHNE version 1.0.0 --Command line is: Daphne.exe rb vldp -fullscreen -x 800 -y 600 -nohwaccel -sound_buffer 4096 -framefile Z:\Daphne\Framefile\Road_Blaster_Framefile.txt --CPU : GenuineIntel 2850 MHz || Mem : 2048 megs --OS : Windows XP/.NET || Video : NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT --OpenGL: Compiled In --RGB2YUV Function: MMX --Line Blending Function: MMX --Audio Mixing Function: MMX ERROR: Unknown game type specified : rb Bad command line or initialization problem (see daphne_log.txt for details). To run DAPHNE, you must specify which game to run and which laserdisc player you are using. For example, try 'daphne lair noldp' to run Dragon's Lair in testing mode. Yet the game loads and runs fine in DaphneLoader... seems Daphne.exe does not like 'rb'
  11. hehe.. aye, it's the right ROM and GameEx is pointing to the right details. (rb, Road Blaster, same FrameFile setup as all the other ROMS I have in Daphne)
  12. I am sure this answer is somewhere, but I can't seem to think straight today.. I have Daphne working fine in GameEx, and all of my LD Games run perfectly from the Menu.. all but one game, Road Blaster. RB goes to a Black Screen and I get a Dahpne error behind it. Yet Road Blasters loads and plays 100% in DahpneLoader when not using GameEx. Odd as the Framefile works in DaphneLoader, the other Framefiles for LD games run fine in DaphneLoader and via GameEx.. just not RB. Any ideas?
  13. Hmm, that seems to have done it.. thnx GF
  14. Ok, I have it working, or so it seems for now. Here's the change I made: [Emulator_3] Enabled=True STARTPAGENAME=Pinball Games TITLETEXT=Pinball StartPageLogo=pinball ROMFilter=*.vpt RomPath=c:\Pinball\Tables SnapPath= TitlePath= BoxPath= CartPath= ManualPath= WorkingPath=c:\Pinball\Tables MapKeys=True WaitBeforeKeys= SendKeys= ReplaceDash=True ReplaceUnder=True Capitals=True RemoveBrackets=True ShowDesktop=True Debug=False MAPFile= AlsoLaunch=[apppath]\vpauto.exe Command=..\VPinball.exe -play -"[ROMFILE]" OLDatZip= LaunchBefore= LaunchAfter= configFile=Project 64 V2 ExcludedFiles= CustomBackground=ArrowDown.png PlayMusic= DontShowInfo= PlaySelectionMusic= SelectionMusicFolder= PCGame= DATABASE=VISUALPINBALL GamesIn7Zips= PlayInScreenSaver=True ShowMostPlayed= RandomMostPlayed= CDCheck= CDCheckFile= [GENERAL] DumbyValue= Now.. how do we get rid of the Sticky Keys pop-up on a 5 Shift Key repeat? Fun stuff.
  15. Ok.. so now what am I doing wrong with VP? I have MAME and Daphne up and running 1000% perfect, but Visual Pinball will give me a list of Tables, but on run the screen flashes to Desktop then throws me back into the Table List of GameEx. Visual Pinball plays fine outside of GameEx as it stands now. Here's the poop: [Emulator_3] Enabled=True StartPageName=Pinball Games TitleText=Pinball StartPageLogo=pinball RomFilter=*.vpt RomsInFolders=False ROMPath=C:\Games\Visual Pinball\Tables SnapPath=C:\Games\Visual Pinball\Snap WorkingPath=C:\Games\Visual Pinball MapKeys=True WaitBeforeKeys= SendKeys= ReplaceDash=True ReplaceUnder=True Capitals=True RemoveBrackets=True AlsoLaunch=[apppath]\vpauto.exe ShowDesktop=True Debug=False MapFile= OLDatZip= Command=..\VPinball-XPFix4.exe -play -"[ROMFILE]" TitlePath= BoxPath= LaunchBefore= LaunchAfter= CartPath= configFile= ExcludedFiles= CustomBackground=ArrowDown.png Import= Export= DumbyValue= PlayMusic=True PCGame= DATABASE=VISUALPINBALL GamesIn7Zips= PlayInScreenSaver=True DontShowInfo=True PlaySelectionMusic= SelectionMusicFolder= ShowMostPlayed=True RandomMostPlayed=True ManualPath= ControlPanelPath= InstructionsPath= CDCheck=False CDCheckFile= lastgame= UseDbName= CustomArtName1= Any clues what I have mismarked??
  16. How did you fix it, so we know in case we hit the same wall.
  17. That's the one! Totally forgot that we had Flat Menu options here. TY BH.
  18. Hi all, Having a problem, in any theme I try, of getting all my menu types to show on the Start Page. I would like the Start Page to show: MAME, Lightgun, Spinner, Trackball games, Emulated (Daphne, etc), and a choice for System Shutdown and Restart. So far I can only get the Start Page to offer up items like an Exit/Shutdown System, but it then takes me to another menu screen to actually shutdown the system. How does one get out of this Start Page > Lower Menu > Action Choice?
  19. Hi all, I am using MAMEUI32 and it has been acting up suddenly on a new cabinet. The cab has a GP-Wiz40 installed and the GWiz has been acting fine with except that it refuses to allow me, while in the config menu of MAME, to make any button/stick changes to mapped keys for: Pause, Config, Exit, other admins... basically, any port from the GP-Wiz40 of slot 16-32 just will do NOTHING in the config menu or game play under MAMEUI32. This is screwy... never seen this issue before. The Joystick and Player Button remapping goes just fine and I can remap the Pause to a Player Button if needed.. but the hard-wired Pause on the GWiz does not get seen when pressed in MAME. Windows Game Controllers sees the input fine, no errors. Any ideas?? I have to have this cab ready in less than 2 days for an event and this suddenly just popped up as a major issue. (side note: I use Joy2Key for daphne and GameEx as the FE, and Daphne -which normally gives me issues- is working fine and the Pause/Admin buttons seem to work fine in Daphne)
  20. I did some searching but am still not sure, as to how you can change the intro sound for GameEX. Anyone done this or know how to do so? Or does one simply replace the 'introsound' file .wav in the theme? Thanks.
  21. Sorry if I am unable to find this answer thus far in my searching, but how do you, or is it automatic somehow, add a MAME game to the GameEX Favorites list?? Thank all. Oopppsss! found the info. Thanks folks
  22. FIXED! Thanks to the ever wise and more than generous BH
  23. I will try that now.. a complete reinstall will not take me too long since I keep my roms and snap movies on another drive, not CD's. Let me do so now and see if that helps.
  24. Welp, I am a fool.. wrong one I listed. The Source I have is indeed 'mame123s'. *duh*
  25. I am using MAME v123 (source mame0123b_i686) The source is extracted into my MAME Folder (and runs just fine in GameEX) I would like to stick with v123 for now, until I have a v124 rom set.
