Went for a clean install in the end which seems to be working so far. Just updating MAME list.......

Hi, Still struggling I'm afraid. I don't use Steam and have now setup my emulators including MAME but still no luck. New log and gameex.ini attached What's confusing me is that everything was working perfectly, we went away on holiday and came back to this. Something happened, perhaps an update, which has caused this problem Cheers Jon GameEx.ini log.txt

Hi, We've been away for a week and on returning GameEx won't launch and I've no idea why. Log file attached, all help very gratefully received. Thanks gameex.txt

So, bought the receiver but struggled to install it then found this advice on another website: Go do device manager and double click on the device. Go to the driver tab and click update driver. Select "Browse my computer for driver software" then "Let me pick from a list of d.evice drivers on my computer", scroll all the way to the bottom and select "Xbox 360 peripherals" then hit next. Hit next again and say yes to the prompt warning about unverified device. That's it. Sorted

I ended up uninstalling GameEx which I had downloaded but not installed prior to upgrading to Windows 10. Re-downloaded and installed in Win 10 and all is fine. Thanks for the advice

Hi, I've recently update the hardware on my system and am in the process of reinstalling GameEx. All was fine until I tried to update the MAME game list and I just kept returning to the main MAME screen. From looking at the log there is possibly a problem with the joysticks: 13:05:09.2 1/16/2016: Unable to create a joystick device Log attached, any help very gratefully received, Jon log.txt

Thanks Forgot to also mention that I upgraded the PSU to Antec HCG620M 620 W 80+ Bronze Power Supply Unit Good advice so far, I'll keep looking. PS Gotta take your hats off to Bespoke Arcades for building a business around this!!

Soooooooo, I bought a second hand Bespoke Arcade cocktail table last year with the following specs: AsRock G31M-S Motherboard http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/G31M-S/ Intel Celeron [email protected] 1 Gb RAM Intel G33/31 Express Chipset Family GMA 3100 Integrated Graphics 384Mb memory When I bought it MAME was running beautifully but the console emulators struggled. I upgraded the GPU to an Nvidia GTS 250 1024Mb GPU, the processor to a Core2Duo E8600 SLB9L 3.33GHz and the RAM to 4Gb. All second hand on EBay for not much money All now working perfectly but as my collection has grown the system is struggling with more modern games. The kids love playing the MAME collection and NES, SNES, Spectrum and N64 games but the system is struggling with PS1, PS2 and Gamecube games. The cabinet is great, joysticks, buttons, sound and cooling all good. I don't think the motherboard can take much more upgrading so my question is this.... I'm looking to buy a new system to put in the cabinet, I'm obviously on a budget and have been looking at second hand gaming PCs on EBay (of which there are plenty), what would you guys recommend with regard to minimal processor, RAM and GPU requirements to get the system up and running to the more demanding PS2 games. I've had alot of great advice from these forums so would appreciate any expert info Thanks Jon

Hi all, Have GameEx running beautifully on my cocktail cabinet. Recently upgraded to Windows 10. Had a few issues initially (lots of screen flicker with N64 emulated games with Project 64 which was resolved by switching to 1964) but now all seems stable. I was thinking about buying 2 XBox controllers on EBay as per Stryker's guide, but noticed that the Microsoft driver download only went as far as Windows 7. Just wondering, before I buy the controllers whether anyone has had any issues with the XBox controllers and Windows 10 or whether there are any suggestions as to which controllers work best across the console emulators. Cheers Jon

[RESOLVED] Install ISO support AFTER installation

Adultery, Using the latest release of Daemon Tools - downloaded this morning. Not sure I am using DT_Loader...yet. I followed the instructions from a previous thread but didn't get very far. In the Setup Wizard on the Download Plugins page DT_Loader isn't appearing Thanks -
Hello (again), So I finally got MAME up and running, really impressed and pleased with the set up. I've tried a few emulators. Anything loading from a ROM file (eg in N64) works fine but I can't get anything loaded from a disc image. I've looked around and keep seeing the same message "ensure you install ISO support when installing GameEx". Not sure I did. I tried running CTR through ePSXe and it worked no problem so I suspect I don't have GameEx pointing to the correct mounting path but can't figure out how to correct this. I have DaemonTools Lite installed under C:\Program Files and after looking at several threads I've tried to configure DT_Loader but got nowhere. Please be patient, I'm on a very steep learning curve, Thanks Jon GameEx.ini log.txt

Thanks, Totally understand the issues. For now I'll just add ROMS as I get them (or as the kids ask for them!) and go from there. All seems to be working beautifully now, Thanks for all your help. Jon -

DazzleHP and nullPointer Thanks for the advice. Turning off the Game Filter did the trick. Out of interest, what is the danger in doing this. I only expect to add individual roms as I get them, should that be OK? -

I've only got 25 Roms in the folder but only showing 15 in GameEx. If it helps the missing Roms are, Galaga, Galaxian, 1943, Bombjack, Choplifter, Donkey Kong, Eagle, Ghosts n Goblins, Marble Madness and Space Invader Cheers -

Thanks so much, now have a list of 15 games in ALL MAME GAMES but missing a few (Galaga, Galaxian, Marble Madness for example). I've updated the list, looked again at the setup wizard but can't see an obvious solution. Sorry -

Thanks, I've moved my MAME roms to C:\Emulators\Mame32\Roms start GameEx and update list When I go into All Mame Games I'm still getting a huge list of games I don't have and when I select from that list a game that I do have it doesn't load I've attached the config and log after trying to load 1943 GameEx.ini log.txt -
[RESOLVED] Integrated MAME or MAME as emulator
jonathancarty replied to jonathancarty's topic in General
I may have sorted it. I noticed on the log that the MAME path was supposed to be: C:\Emulators\Mame32 When I check on C drive it was actually C:\Emulators\MAME I've corrected that and now MAME is the top line on the first screen when I start GameEx. I go into MAME, select All MAME Games and I get a complete list of MAME games rather than what I have loaded on the system I'm still a bit confused as the Roms for MAME are stored in C:\Roms\Mame\Roms Should I be putting them in C:\Emulators\Mame32\roms ?
