  1. OK, got it now. Thanks for the info. I will keep this manual handy.
  2. OK, just realized the games are there but they are mixed in with the pinball tables. I was expecting a separate list called mame to appear since game mgr has it setup separately. why would I not be seeing a separate list called mame in my menu? I have attached the requested files in case you still need them. Gonna read the section in the pbx manual on this as well to see if I missed anything log.txt PinballX.ini
  3. Yes, I do have the database xml file for MAME. Tried changing to [TABLEFILE] but mame still dn show. checking the documentation provided
  4. I'm sure I have something setup incorrectly in PBX but not sure what. See attached. Mame is not appearing in the front end. I have it working fine outside PBX, it just won't show in the menu when executing PBX.
  5. found this: http://easyemu.mameworld.info/mameguide/mameguide-options.html
  6. I found mame.ini and CarneyPreist had said to use that. Just need a bit more direction on how to specify my BG monitor here. not seeing where you specify the mame monitor in this file.
  7. Just need to know how to use pbx for mame with display on backglass. If there is a forum, please provide link. Thanks!
  8. Here you go. Thanks log.txt Visual Pinball.xml PinballX.ini
  9. seems like my long list of tables stops somewhere in the Tr section. For example, Trigon is not listed and any table after that. I need to disable hiding the dmd for some tables using a dmd image in the front end.
  10. OMG, somehow my dmd monitor display got changed to portrait. switched back to landscape and it is back to normal. No idea how that happened but thanks goodness that's all it was. Thanks!
  11. Not sure if my issue is a pbx issue since the rotated dmd is happening when played outside of PBX directly via the editor. But in case you can shed any light, I attached the files requested. log.txt pbx ini.txt
  12. come to think of it, now everything on my dmd monitor is sideways!! What the hay? Just played funhouse table and the B2S dmd display is also rotated sideways. It was perfect last night. I don't recall pressing anything to make it rotate. Any ideas?
  13. For some odd reason, even the stock pbx dmd video is playing sideways (rotated) please help.
  14. but this was a clean install and the issues seem to have popped on the first startup after LAV was installed. I guess it's just coincidence then. Not sure what could have triggered it.
  15. got it working per above accept this morning when I started my PC for the first time since installing LAV codecs it had to do some sort of repair process to start. Not sure if the LAV caused an issue? Are there recommended settings I should use for the LAV codecs to run smoothly?
  16. when I try to execute pinballx.exe, nothing happens. was working previously but I had to rebuild my drive using windows 7 b/c windows 10 was not working with the plunger board I am using (zebs) I installed Shark codecs. Are there settings I should be doing in the shark codecs settings? can't remember. been a while since I set that stuff up.
  17. You ready for this one? So I moved my pc back upstairs and connected the orig monitor that I was using for playfield. At first, it appeared to still be an issue. Then I played a table via the editor and noticed it still displayed in the small window unlike previously when it was displaying correctly when played from the editor. So I checked the video options and for some strange reason it switch to a smaller size. So I switched it back to windowed full screen and now it works correctly in both the editor and pinballx. I had checked and double checked when it was connected to the cab and confirmed it had been set to fullscreen. Perhaps it for some reason was showing that setting but behind the scenes it was really the smaller display? Who knows? Hoping that moving to the pc monitor display triggered it to correct itself. Will be interesting to see if the issue surfaces again when I eventually move it back to the cab. Thanks all for your input on this rather bizarre issue. We shall see what happens.
  18. Just so it's clear, this is not resolved. Still have the small display in playfield. Just not working on that right now. will revisit when I have other setup done
  19. well, the drive I have been using as my main drive is a solid state drive and was actually a clone of the 2tb HD drive. But keep in mind that this was all working fine for the longest time. So whatever triggered this behavior is on the SSD drive, not the other drive. I'm going to just focus on trying to fix the SSD b/c I'm having multiple issues on the other drive. Not as stable and won't connect to internet etc etc so it seems like it will be more work than just sticking to the SSD for now. Once I finish getting all my DMD screens postioned, I'm going to pull the pc from the cab and connect back upstairs to see if the issue continues on the pc monitor. I have a bunch of BG videos to redo and it will be much easier to do it upstairs vs on this cab.
  20. Oh well, back to drawing board. can't seem to get anything working on other drive. ugh.
  21. still working on getting things running on the other drive getting pinmame error. probably need to update the pinmame version. will report back once I have it working and if it still shows the same display issue
  22. gonna boot to my other drive and see if I have the same issue
  23. from a quick google search, it appears you can't just make each display the number you want. it comes from whatever port they are plugged in. my playfield is correctly set to 1. the backglass and dmd work fine so I don't think this is a display orientation thing since it works fine from VP. and it did work previously so it remains a mystery as to what changed. The only thing I can think of that would have changed was running the setdmd utility against all my roms but that only affects the dmd as far as I know.
  24. I think the monitor config would depend on what ports you have them plugged into. Not sure if you can change that without switching the plugs which would mean using a lower quality connection for the playfield. I will need to google to see if it's possible to change the numbers around without switching the cables.
  25. I do understand why you would think the issue is with vp but again, it runs perfectly normal outside of pinballx. If I open vp10, 9.9, 9.2, or phys mod 5 and run respective tables via the editors, they display correctly. It's only when running them via pinballx does this happen so I can't help but conclude it's got something to do with pinballx. But again, windows can be very strange and who knows. But re-installing windows is not an option. It's win 8.1 and I don't have an install CD. I do have a clone of it on another drive that I can boot to at will, so I'm going to see if the same thing happens when I run pinballx on the other drive.
