  1. wait! so in the mega guide, I don't see what the settings are supposed to be for back box. I realized I only set the for playfield, but you have to switch the radio button to back box and set those too. anyone know what the resolution is supposed to be and what boxes should be checked in FP video options for back box? this might be key for my size issue. though it still prob won't resolve why the playfield won't display when run in pbx.
  2. tried all the above and nothing works. Argh! thanks all for trying. guess I'll be tabling this for now (pun intended) and sticking with VPX. it's a shame b/c I really like the graphics of these newer bam tables.
  3. TerryRed's mega guide says NOT to run fp as admin. I don't think that would matter. I need to resolve my BG monitor issue before I even worry about pbx though for now. it's not displaying correctly. It's acting like there is less size than there is. as if it thinks the BG and dmd monitors are swapped somehow. but not sure. ARGH! this is all really so frustrating.
  4. with the exception of an issue Im' having with the backglass not filling the whole screen, yes, it is setup per Terry's mega guide. The playfield loads fine directly from bam but I can't for the life of me get it to load in pbx.
  5. had that already but in the beginning. copied yours exactly but same issue. It's like it loads hidden or something. yet it works fine outside PBX. updated ini attached. PinballX.ini
  6. from what someone else using this said, fploader does not load future dmd automatically. You have to use pbx to load future dmd in addition to running the fp/table. Per my attached screenshot, you can see that I am doing just that. the first section handles fploader and the 2nd section handles future dmd. also, as a test, I removed the future dmd component and what I am finding is it does look like it's loading the table in the background but all I get is the backglass. the playfield just comes up black. If you hit alt tab and tab until you hit where you can see the table in the process of loading, hold the alt key down and watch it load with the progress bar, but then when it finishes loading, there is no playfield. Just black. The BG loads fine. really strange. Until I can get this working normally, I'm leaving the future dmd setting out of it. Once I get this working, then I can try adding the dmd part. Question remains, why on earth is the playfield not loading? I attached the updated pinballx.ini and fresh log. The log shows me nothing. But just for giggles, I did try setting the above to false but no difference. Right now again, I have no future dmd parameters as I'm trying to figure out why the playfield won't load. It works fine outside of pbx so this has to be a pbx issue. log.txt PinballX.ini
  7. the idea is to launch fploader.exe which is what runs future pinball but via the bam folder, and load the future dmd when loading the table. You have to load FP via the BAM folder in order for it to use the BAM physics engine.
  8. see attached ini and log. initially I saw in the log it said access denied to the ini so I opened full control permissions. Now the log has no error but when I try to load a future pinball table, pbx just sits and I have to kill it. However, the pbx process still runs after killing the app then it seems to load the table unless I kill the pbx process in task manager. vpx works fine. Is there something wrong with a setting? FP works fine outside of pbx. FYI, I'm loading fp via bam. PinballX.ini log.txt
  9. NVM, I just renamed the vpx tables DB to visual pinball and removed the old one. updated the media folder to visual pinball. so I'm good now and can just see my tables as I want now. Just didn't think of this until recently. thanks
  10. OK, so this is interesting. I removed the editable enries in the settings for each system leaving only the vpx system. this removed all but the visual pinball system. Even after deleting the visual pinball section out of the ini, it still loads that database. attached is the error if I remove he visual pinball DB folder along with the ini. guessing game mgr doesn't look at the ini. But why would removing the settings entries for my other systems remove them from game mgr but not the main vp one? Must be hard coded? I just don't want anything other than vpx loading when I open game mgr. Well, and future pinball since I'm going to try that out too. PinballX.ini
  11. I tried removing 3 old databases I no longer use for vp but even with them not enabled in pbx settings, I get an error when I open the game manager. I just want vpx to load and no other databases. How do I make it so I can do this without error?
  12. Yes, thanks
  13. Oh shoot, come to think of it, I did delete some folders thinking I didn't need them. So I created a new Ambiance folder in the media folder and now it opens. curious, what is that folder for? there is nothing in it. Guessing somewhere in setup there must be a path specified for this. Thanks!
  14. I had this issue years ago and can't recall what the fix was. But when I launch PBX, it starts act like it will load but then closes. I thought this meant an issue with the xml file like a syntax issue but I copied the whole contents to a an online validator and it found no issues. It was just working fine yesterday or day before. I have been adding a bunch of tables since the last time it worked so I suspect a typo somewhere but not seeing it. here are my specs and files attached: windows 7 64 bit Latest version of PBX just released this past week and latest vpx and vpinmame versions. (works fine launched outside PBX) using notepad ++ for editing the xml 3 screen setup with digital plunger (ZEBs) PinballX.ini log.txt VP 10 Tables.xml
  15. ok, that worked. thanks! also unchecked the 64bit option. I assumed since this is a 64 bit OS I would need to leave that checked but apparently not
  16. will try this. thanks
  17. log and ini attached. windows 7. 64 bit. not sure if I ran a different installer from before. not sure what version but likely about a year ago or so. log.txt PinballX.ini
  18. Help please! after installing the latest version, pbx will not load at all! Can someone please help me? I confirmed my db file is still in tact and game mgr loads as does the settings config, but the app itself will not launch.
  19. solved! I think the issue was I had the old vpt version + the vpx version in the tables folder and it was still pulling the vpt file somehow when running pbx. After deleting the vpt file, it works!
  20. will anyone be able to chime in on this please? Hate to have to revert back to vpt just b/c I can't get it to run right via pbx. Trying to convert as many as I can.
  21. anything else needed or any insight on this? Still cannot decipher why this would only happen when running some tables via pbx but not via the editor. There has got to be something in the way pbx is launching them vs how the editor does. It's just so weird man! lol
  22. attached pbx ini file. I am using a cab with buttons wired through the board that came with my plunger. Zeb's plunger. PinballX.ini
  23. log attached. where do I find the .ini. can't recall. been a while. using a 3 monitor cab setup using VPX 10.4 and pbx as the front end. Not sure what you mean by interface? log.txt
  24. Hello, I have so far, 3 tables that will not run via PBX due to script errors. But they run fine when I execute them from VP. I posted for help in the vp forums but nobody seems to have any clue why this is happening. Here is some info: Windows 7 Intel Core I5 3.3 gz processor 8gb ram installed the latest 10.4 version vp installer (vpx 10.4) latest B2s server is installed and registered tables with issues are Medusa, Flash Gordon, and Airport, all most recent versions in VPX and run fine in the editor. Airport seems to just get stuck and won't open. see attached screenshots of errors I get for Medus and Flash Gordaon. Also installed latest pbx version today and made sure it is pointing to the correct exe. Most tables are working otherwise. Any ideas why PBX would trigger these script errors?
  25. DB file is attached. X-Files is near the bottom. It loads the videos fine but when you try to play it, it appears to start loading but goes right back to the menu. Tried replacing the script for this table with one that works then renaming but no luck. Any ideas? It plays fine in the editor (VP9.9) Just that it won't load. Is there something in the script for this table that is wrong? Visual Pinball.xml
