I confirmed 24 is only enabled to run the external/freezy dmd and not the vpinmame one. attached screenshots of my nvidia setup, dmddevice.ini showing the dmd size/position section, b2ssetlup which I believe only effects size and position of b2s dmds, not pinmame or freezy so the b2s setup should not be a factor here. anywhere else it could be pulling the numbers from per the log file? I"m confused. PinballX.ini

Tried recording all videos for 24 and it sorta hung up a while but did create a table video. blank dmd video and the bg video was not the bg, but the desktop. then recorded using the record button for all and it just hung and I killed it and nothing got created. then I ran just dmd and per attached, I get an error saying it can't open do to unsupported format. 24.mp4 log.txt

so freezy, and b2s dmds are all working now. but I continue to frustratingly struggle with getting pbx to record my screens. I have installed the lav filters. is there any setting I should be checking within the lav filters? why is recording not working? I have the b2ssetup for LED section setup same as dmd setup in pbx settings. I am at a loss here.

I spoke to soon. For some reason, it is now recording a black screen. this is driving me nuts! I set my dmd size/positions in pbx settings to match what I have set globally in my dmddevice.ini file (freezy) which is working fine, but now I"m getting blank recordings. I just don't understand why this would not work if pbx is set the same as the working dmddevice.ini?

OK so I have the video working now. However, I realized that when the dmd videos play in pbx, they are filling the screen and not displaying the way they do in game. I have them sized and positioned similar to a real dmd pm the bottom half of my dmd monitor. But I have hundreds of tables that don't use a dmd so they use custom images I created that more or less do fill the screen. How can I ensure that the dmds display correctly AND the images also display correctly?

FYI, I installed the LAV codecs after removing the shark codec but the dmd videos still don't work. Also, if someone can please tell me how to stop the recording after one table records so I can test it before doing all of them. Right now, I have to shut down to get it to stop or try to kill it in task mgr but that doesn't always work either b/c it just keeps recording.

I recorded dmd videos (over 200) using the game manager recorder function but even with shark codec installed, they will not play at all in window, thumbnails, or pbx. PLease help! Also is there a way to stop it from recording if you need to check to make sure the videos are right before recording hundreds of tables? seems like I have to shut down to get it to stop and it's very annoying.

NVM, I googled and found you have to hold shift key down, then right click - maximize. Whew! that scared me.

I was trying to change the settings screen to not be full screen but when I hit the maximize/restore button it permanently changed it so it no longer opens! Even after a reboot. I cannot right click restore either. How do I fix this? I tried re-downloading and installing but even if I copy all the files other than settings app to the new install, it still will not open. I have to start all over with all my settings? WTH? All I did was hit the maximize/restore button and not I can't open it. So frustrating.

so you are saying I'm SOL on recording my tables in desktop mode?

1. I'm running FX3 in desktop mode with one monitor. What should I be putting in the parameter field for FX3? I copied the one from VPX but obviously that doesn't work. I have the tables in the wheel but can't launch them from pbx b/c of the parameter. 2. Does the built in record function also record FX3 tables? Anything special I need to get that working other than getting the tables to come up in the front end using a db file? How do we set it up so the tables just load? I'm assuming that would be driven by the parameter?

I updated the parameters field to include the exit script and that resolved the stuck dmd issue: (in pbx settings under visual pinball) RunWait, /STAYINRAM /play -"[TABLEPATH]\[TABLEFILE]" /exit /arcaderender,,hide UseErrorLevel However, after running all night, it successfully recorded about half of my tables. The other half recorded what appears to be a hung up game manager per attached example. I deleted those and will run again w/ hopes I will get more successful recordings. Any idea why this might be happening? also attaching the requested files. pbx cfg.txt log.txt

I tried recording tables from game manager and it seems like the tables launch and record but don't close and the dmd from previous tables are staying on the screen causing a messy recording. Any suggestions?

PbX is already setup to run as admin. wouldn't the line be similar to the one that opens the dmd though except something that closes it? don't know the programming language enough to sound intelligent so forgive me. For example, the code to open it is Parameters ="(tablefile)" close=1. was thing close = 0 or something to close it? if you get what I'm trying to say. lol

Is the attached correct? the dmd display closes but the futuredmd app remains open but in a shut off state. is there a way to get it to shut completely off? not sure if I did this right?

sorry, you will need to expand on that. what config file are you referring to? Not seeing one in the FP folder only the cfg folder in BAM which is for table configs. Can't this be done in pbx settings for future pinball much like I have it starting future dmd? I thought you could also add something to tell it to close the dmd?

Bingo! It's working now! Whaaaahooooo! thanks so much Tom. One last question. How do I tell PBX to close the DMD when existing the table? It stays on now.

unfortunately, that made no difference. I decided to video myself loading the table and hitting alt tab so you can see exactly what I'm seeing. ONce the table supposedly loads, I'm left with the BG, dmd, and black playfield. Here is a youtube video link so you can hopefully get the idea of what I'm dealing with: (note that in order to keep the pre-load table screen displayed I am holding down the alt key after alt tabbing to where you can see the table loading. Otherwise, the playfield screen would just be black the whole time:

Fixed the BG issue! I set back box to full screen and max resolution option, then was able to adjust to fill my whole screen. Yippee! However, Im' still baffled and stuck on why PBX won't load it just the same. the BG loads fine but still the darn playfield is black. I noticed it flashed on for a second but then stayed black. Hmmmmm
