Thank you very much Draco1962 for the tip of this program !!! I was able to successfully create the .map file by scanning the roms I have in the games folder. However, duplicate names appear. Even though I activated the function called "megs sets". Do you have any other necessary settings to be made? ps.....among the options that the program has, I didn't check any. I just loaded the roms and had the .map file created.

Wow. I was unaware of the existence of this feature. I'll try to use it. Thank you!!

[RESOLVED] GameEX x RetroArch x Command Line x .BAT and .EXE files
Alan Ribas replied to Alan Ribas's topic in General
Hello Draco1962 !!! Thank you very much! As always very helpful in helping me. I was walking around my house thinking about it and came up with the idea: I was using this command line to run the .exe file retroarch.exe -L ". \ cores \ mame_libretro.dll" "[ROMPATH] \ [ROMFILE]" -f It is obviously not going to work. For such a command line was also present in the executable. So it should all become a mess of nonsense command lines trying to be executed. I just changed it to "[ROMPATH] \ [ROMFILE]" and as expected the game started normally. Wow!! I was happy now. Thank you man for always answering my help requests! -
Hi guys! I am trying to run the GameEx program together with RetroArch, but I have encountered some problems. No problem with running the games. In this regard, everything works perfectly. The whole point is that in the specific field of configuration of the MAME emulator within gameex it does not accept a different emulator besides the MAME itself. In summary: I tried to replace the command line in the MAME emulator configuration field: "MAME64.exe" by "RetroArch.exe (adding the other command lines here)" However, this did not work. To tell you the truth, I use the specific configuration of the MAME emulator just because it gives me the correct display of the names of the Roms. Instead of those simple names that are made up of arcade game files. If any of you could tell me how do I configure gameEx so that instead of being seen strange names in the Arcade game list, gameEx would show me the real names of the games, I would be grateful (to do this through the normal configuration of an emulator ).

Good afternoon guys. I'm setting up RetroArch to work with GameEx. Basically I have been successful in all emulators with the exception of the PHILIPS CDI system. For this system I created .bat files with command lines to start the game. Everything works fine when I run these .bat files. But when I try to run them through GameEX it doesn't work. I tried to work around the problem by converting the .bat files to .exe. Again outside of gameex it works. But when trying to run these executables again, GameEx does not start it. The games I try to run are at the address: D: \ Games \ RetroArch \ system \ cdimono1 Could you help me? ....................................................................................................................................................................................... I saw it in another post with a user that even managed to solve his problem but I didn't understand the solution he wrote. "I had the batch file in a seperate path, therefore it didn't work." Ps....I attached the .bat and .exe files if they are useful for you to tell me how I can solve the problem. Dimo's Quest.exe Dimo's Quest.bat

I found the answer: Start the game. Open RetroArch Quick Menu (F1 by default) and go to "Options". Find "Port 1: Multitap Enable" and turn it ON. Go to the very top of the same menu and click "Create Game Options file" to save that setting ONLY for that game (or else you'll have multitap enabled for every other games too). Go back to Quick Menu and click "Close Content" (clicking "Restart" won't work, you have to completely close the core). Start the game again and you should be able to play 4 players modes.

Understand. Thank you.....

Excuse me Tom. But where exactly did you add within the gameex SETUP the part to configure Retroarch? I will try to configure the retroarch to run with Gameex. If you can give me an example of how to make a core installed in retroarch run inside gameex I would be very grateful. So with that knowledge I could replicate it to install other cores.

Thank you. I will try this.

I asked a question on Discord. But no one answered. I will try another communication channel ...

I Will try ...

I don't know this tool. could you tell me the way?
-
Maybe it is that. But maybe not. If there were other people using this emulator I could be sure. Thank you for your help.

The problem described in that post was resolved after I got good roms. the PROBLEM now is that those roms that were working no longer work ... I couldn't get it to work outside of gameex.

About 1 year ago I tried using gameex evolution. I don't remember now what the problem was with him that I faced. So I decided to continue with the classic gameex.

definitely the existing bios pack on my pc differs from the version of MAME I have. The point is that I didn't find the bios pack updated in the latest version of MAME. and all the ones I downloaded didn't work either.

I will actually try to use the RetroArch together with Gameex. But not evolution. Why the question? Is it not possible?

I am not able to connect all 4 joysticks to play "PlayStation 1" games that accept this amount of players. Like "Crash Bash" for example. I did not find the option to activate multitap. I don't know if it's necessary. When I enter the joysticks configuration menu, only the 1st and 2nd players have the option to choose the "playStation Controller" option in the "device type" (only these two josyticks work) . The other joystick configuration menus (3rd, 4th and 5th) only appear in that part the option "Retropad". In short. Is it possible or not to play games from 4 playstation 1 players in retroarch? I'm using the core: Sony PlayStation (Beetle PSX HW)

In the past few days I have updated all the emulators I have. Tedious but rewarding task. However, I had problems with the MAME emulator. Some systems just stopped working. I realized that the problem could be in the bios used to run the games. Because sometimes the mother's screen just appeared with the information saying "INITIALIZING", and then it closed. I updated the bios and everything was resolved, except for the PHILIPS CDI system. I downloaded numerous bios for this system but the games insist on not starting up. As in the photos attached to this post: Only appears : "INITIALIZING" or when the game is opened the philips CDI screen without CD appears. This is my command line: mame64.exe cdimono1 -cdrm "[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]" -keepaspect Mame Version: mame0220b_64bit can anybody help me? There are a few days that I am trying here but without success. It's not my laziness. GameEx.ini log.txt

[RESOLVED] FM TOWNS MARTY x Command line in MAME x FullScreen
Alan Ribas replied to Alan Ribas's topic in General
Thank you so much for helping Draco1962 !!!You are a cool guy!! The way then is to continue like this ... -
Good night people. Currently, when I start the "FM TOWNS MARTY" emulator, it is the screen attached to this post that I see. My current command line for this system is: mame64.exe fmtmarty -cdrom "[ROMPATH] \ [ROMFILE]" -keepaspect I have no idea what the command is for the image to reach the upper and lower edges of my monitor, without stretching the image. If anyone there knows and can talk to me.

Feature & Enhancement Requests
Alan Ribas replied to Tom Speirs's topic in FAQs, Guides, & Other Useful Information
Good night Tom ... I would like to know if it is possible for you to add in the configuration part of the executable "ThemeEditor" the possibility of enabling and disabling functions. for example. There are several tings that we can use to configure a system: Title Gives you Team List SelectLine1 SelectLine2 Image = Image2 = Description = Scroller = Weather = Menu = ListNum = There is currently no option to enable / disable these tools. In my case, sometimes I don't want to use "Image2 =", but I have to make a workaround to make everything the way I want it. Another thing that I ask to be able to be customized is the "Menu" option. In it we have the possibility to filter the games by different parameters, however I just wanted a single one, which would be "By category", and leave the rest disabled so that it would cause less visual pollution in the configuration I wanted to make. If you could do that. Create within the "ThemeEditor" the possibility to enable the options that exist there I would be very grateful. Nowadays, I need to make workaround to make everything the way I want, but it is not as good as it would be if I had the chance to decide if something should be there or not. -
Thank you. I will place an order there.
-
You're right. The possibility of requesting new tools on GameEx has always existed in this forum. The reason for this post is just to make sure that what I want to do, at least for the moment, is not yet possible. If so, please tell me, because I don't know what to do.

GameEx configuration gives us the possibility to choose a certain category of games when we enter specifically within one of the configured systems. Once browsing the list of games we have the option to choose whether we want to filter those games by the following categories: - Alphabetical order. - Manufacturer. - By category. - For years. - etc... However, they are too many options and I have no desire to use them all. In my case I just wanted the "By category" filtering option to be available. However, I was unable to find an option to disable these other options. Is there a way to enable only the option I want? Or if not, could the possibility of enabling and disabling these options be implemented?
