  1. Just saw this on Craig's List. A 21" gateway monitor for $40. I use a 21" in my cab. Location is in Haverhill MA: http://boston.craigslist.org/nos/sys/428338244.html No connection, I was just browsing.
  2. I have a Tankstick. No problems at all. My cab.
  3. Finished the Pause and Quit LED buttons. Pic is a bit blurry b/c I tried not to use the flash (washes out the button colors), but you get the idea. It looks very slick in person. Blue is pause, and red is quit. Their switch portions are wired into the X-Arcade. Their LEDs are powered off the second PSU in the cabinet (5V line with 150ohm resistors). Each causes a different simultaneous 4-button press (in an unlikely combo a player would hit while gaming). A minor mod to MAME's X-arcade controler file for the new combos and we're off and running.
  4. I really fubar'd that first post, so let me try it again (wishes I could edit the title). And I was sober then too...no excuse for the typos and slips. Is there a way for the pictures from the slideshow paths to appear in and amongst the screensaver videos and games?
  5. Honest, I looked around, but couldn't find the answer. I have some pictures I would like displayed (randomly) in the screensaver/attract along with the games and videos, yet I see no way of doing it. The slideshow standalone is there of course, but... Doable?
  6. Hey everyone, Here's my first ever MAME cabinet. It's nearly complete now, except for a last minute addition I will be making shortly of two Bulgin LED buttons (one blue and one red) that will be for convenient use of "pause" and "quit". These will be placed below the monitor somewhere between the USB hub and the DVD drive. I have also wired up my cabinet with a switch hidden behind the locked coin door that deactivates the X-arcade's coin buttons..for when one wants a more authentic experience....or just to soak his buddies Two pics below. I sent Tom my Gameex donation today, and GAMEEX can be seen in the first picture (before the side art was applied). All the sordid, probably overly documented but still incomplete details can be found at http://www.skinners.us/skinners/Misc/ArcadeCab
  7. Simply hilite the game to remove and hit your DELETE key. You'll get a confirmation dialog. Just hit enter and it is removed from the list. What this does is add that ROM to the filter list automatically, and you do not need to update.
  8. Ah. it was simple then! I didn't think of that since the player worked for WMVs. I'll convert the videos then. Many thanks for such a prompt reply, Tom.
  9. I should also state this is XP Pro, SP2, with WMP10 (should that matter) and there are no errors in the gameex log. Just entries about each ROM played for the screen saver.
  10. I don't have an answer for you, but I experienced something similar with just a regular hard wired mouse (pre-tankstick) when I switched among the themes. Some themes worked with the mouse and others did not. Then some that didn't suddenly started to work later. I never figured out why. I too rec'd my tankstick last week. Wow...so cool. I'm running everything off USB, including a wireless keyboard with built in mouse...and the tankstick trackball continues to work fine. Lots of USB stuff actually: Tankstick's 2 cables Wireless key/mouse Griffin Powermate Slot loading CD/DVD ROM (uses 2 USB cables for power and comm). I intend to install the slot loader into the area above the tankstick/below the monitor in my MAME cabinet so that the kids can easily load their DVD based games without needing access to the PC itself. I like the slot loader because there's no tray for them to snap off. I'm torn about using the powermate as my spinner. It rests on the tankstick's platform. I like being able to move it around anywhere I need to based on the game I am playing, but it doesn't have the free spin of a true arcade spinner.
  11. Hello, I have been experimenting with Gameex for a couple weeks now, and understand there are some features that will only be available to me when I register. However the ability to play videos with/instead of MAME games in the screensaver didn't appear in that list. My INI is attached below. I have tried various ratio settings, and of course "only videos". Whatever I do the screen saver will only run MAME...even when the video only option is chosen. My videos (vintage commercials) are in WMV format, and list and play fine in the gameex video player. I've honestly dug around, and haven't posted for a week hoping I could find some silly setting or tidbit of info I am missing...but I've now accepted defeat..and I bow to the gameex gods here Thanks in advance.
