ok i got gameex to work by changing advanced mame setting-mame options to -nowindow -joy -skip_gameinfo from '-video d3d -noswitchres -triplebuffer'. this opens the game but same issue as arcade that when it opens a mame game it clears all my config and cant play or even hit tab to set it. so i guess this issue can be closed and should i start a new one for the config issue? thx.

so i setup gameex aracade version 16.73 with my mame .219 and i can get the game to load but not play because everytime it loads mame it erases my default config in mame. i changed that to read only and doesnt erase it but still wont play. this is the same issue i had with gameex back in april that i sent in issues for. so gameex wont load the mame games and arcade edition loads but erases mame config. i am going to try evo next, thx. GameEx.ini log.txt

Let me know how else I can help. It worked a few updates ago and I just got back to it and had to re setup name controls then tried to play to make sure gameex still wasn’t erasing my config and tries to play game then just goes back to menu. Steam works, I was going to try another emulator. These are the normal setup wizard options I’ve used on all my systems. Thanks.

Tried to open runitgame in the data folder but it closes right away from what I can make out it just says error:unknown option

hello, i'm having an issue on mame when i select a game it tries to start and then just goes back to the menu to select the game. tested mame outside of game ex and worked before and after launching gameex. note this is my other machine and not the one i have an issue tom is looking into, thx. here are my logs. i have the latest version of gameex also running in windows 10. good evening i just updated one of my old machines from version 14.35 which loaded and worked, to the newest version and now i just get the error screen. i'll attach my files. the machine is running windows xp thx. GameEx.ini log.txt

it wasnt that because now that my default config in mame is read only it only clears when i open gameex but when i exit gameex and open mame my settings are still there. you can mark this resolved because im wiping that drive and restarting because since new install of windows im having more issues which could be related especially with my permissions. thx for the suggestions.

just reassigned my guide and player 1 controls in mame and played game closed out, re opened and fine. the restarted computer and mame is still holding settings. so before i open gameex again and lose them ill wait for some testing or checking i guess. hopefully someone else that has similar controllers to mine can verify gameex is not recognizing different controllers and only sees them as all the same controller. just a shot in the dark. thx guys.

it wipes all my button, joystick setups from my mini pac controllers every time i open gameex. i had to reinstall windows 7 on my c drive and my front end , emulators, roms, led blinky etc., everything i use for arcade is on a seperate drive. i setup mame, play games, close it out and reopen and its fine. i have had issues in the past with windows reassigning usb inputs but thats not troubling me now. my controllers stay plugged in and stay assigned to the same usb even after restart and mame keeps its config also. as soon as i start gameex and try to run a mame game it erases every mame button, joystick assignment from my minipac keyboard controller #4 and resets to defaulst of keyboard 1 which is my computer keyboard but anything i changed in mame it just clears that and is set to none. mame 196 and gameex version from april of last year was what i had setup on my system with no issues for years even with doing mame and gameex updates. i do notice that when i press tab in gameex to check mame buttons and reassign in there it doesnt recognize my keyboard controllers with different id's if that helps. for instance my player 1 is keyboard 4, player 2 is keyboard 3 and computer keyboard is keyboard 1. that designation is not present when assigning from inside gameex but is when mame is launched outside gameex. it just for example says up for player 1 and 2 instead of keyboard 4 up, keyboard 3 up. and i know mame will reset if they are not recognized. so i guess im asking if gameex is not handling my controllers like it did in past versions. thx also it only changes my controllers in mame but other changes in mame like video, paths, advanced options, etc stay saved.

hello, since my new install of gameex 16.27 and mame196 after a crash i can set up mame buttons and save them and close it and restart and still keep the settings, but as soon i launch gameex to play a mame game it wipes out all my settings, only for the joysticks and buttons but not the spinners or trackball. i use ultimarc mini pacs. never had this happen before. my usb's are on all the time, permissions are full control-admin, changed mame configs to read only but cannot figure why all of the sudden this is happening, thx. log.txt GameEx.ini runitgame.bat mame.ini

ok will do. that was going to be my next question as to which folders or files to save and paste in the new download. im assuming i can just copy the led blinky folder out of the plug ins and paste it in the new for same result. i will just delete old folders and start new with saving those files for new install, thx guys.

thx reddog, i have my drives backed up on spare drives. i have always only used the c drive for the operating system. e drive has always been all my arcade files. my key recognizes gameex and gives me my paid version. i would hope to not do a fresh install just because of the time it takes to reset up all my emulators and especially led blinky, but understand. just not sure why it wants to create another folder inside my folder even after i deleted that folder it does it every time. it is definately a mess and might be best to delete all gameex files from all drives. was hoping files provided would lead to an easy fix to something im missing in either windows 7 or gameex. thx.

hello i recently lost my c drive and reinstalled windows. all my arcade, gameex, roms, etc. are on my e drive.(whole arcade setup). so when i started gameex once i got my system up and running it ask me to update, i do and then restarts and does this over and over. i believe i have version 15.73. files attached, thx. i also tried to just download the newest from the website but it overrode my whole setup so reverted back to previous version from a backup drive. also after i close out of this i notice it puts a gameex folder inside of my original gameex folder and when i click that to open its a new setup log.txt GameEx.ini runit.bat

hello, i have a question as to what this error is in my background log. gameex seems to work fine except in screensaver mode once in a while it will just have an all black csreen and when i task manager out my screen is black in windows with no start menu or desktop icons and i have to restart machine. thx.
