i use the musicbox to play random musictracks after startup. when gameex is started there is no musictitle shown in the top bar, but after playing a game in mame the title is shown. to let you hear not only bad things: i must say that gameex is one of the coolest frontends. especially the configuration is very nice. the only thing that could be better is the speed when closing a game. when my cab is built, i'll use gameex in it. (hope everyone understand my bad english )
generally, a tutorial how to make themes would be a good idea. the most things you can find yourself by browsing the themes-folders, but when it goes to details, like pixelpositions, videos and scaling, a tutorial would be very helpful.
some games seemed to be missing in the gamelist. for example i cant find "dangun feveron", which makes no problem while playing it with mame32. and yes, ive turned the gamefilter off
is it possible that magicengine has big problems with CD-games? when i launch an iso-image with daemontools i see only the titlescreen and then magicengine crushes, while hugo plays the whole game (with bad sound ). but even if i burn the image on a real cd ive got the same problem
when i use gameex to start a visualboyadvance-game i get everytime a message in a dos-window that i have to press any key. even when i use the sendkey-function of gameex i get this message. ive also tried the commandline version of vba with the same result
is it possible to mount an iso-cd-image while starting the emulator with gameex and unmounting it by ending the game? i think it could be possible with the launchbefore- and launchafter-option. but i have no experiences in starting programs with scripts. this would be helpful for playing pc-engine CDs with magic engine.
did anybody got a good hugo (pc-engine/turbo grafx 16-emulator) config? ive got the problem that hugo shows only a windowscreen if its been started out of gameex. even when i set start_fullscreen=1 in the hugo-settings.
i want to use winuae in gameex with the configuration shown in this forum (it uses an extra winuae-configuration for each game). when i start one of these configurations in the winuae-folder everything works fine, but when i start it in gameEx i see only a window (not fullscreen as set in the winuae-configuration) with the workbench-disk and not the game did anybody got the same problem? edit: oops, i simply didnt recognized that the rompath isnt shown in the commandline of the here shown configuration
now i know the problem: im using a font-manager (suitcase) instead of installing the fonts directly to the windows font-folder. gameex shows only these fonts.
another strange font-related thing is, that i can use much less fonts in gameEx than ive got installed on my pc are there plans to put in an all-font-solution? (i hope my english is not toooo bad )
