  1. That's exactly what the app is supposed to do though . If you have the cfg files, apparently MAME doesn't give the 'OK' dialog.
  2. You will need to launch them from a batch file. There will basically be 2 lines: start c:\xpadder\profiles\<profilename> c:\mediaportal\mediaportal.exe Yours will look different, but hopefully you get the idea.

    1964 N64 Emu

Does the emulator work outside of GameEx? If it doesn't, that's the first place to start. If it does, then we can move on to the next step of finding a solution.
  4. I don't know what the problem is, but I guarantee that Tom's first request is that you post the full log file...

When you guys come up with a stable method for Step 2, I'll step in and help. I don't want to update databases in mass until the procedure is finished. That would just be a waste of energy!
  6. Then problem solved, right (for now anyway)?
  7. I'm sure this will work, but I have a question. What is being modified when this is done? If we can figure out what file is being changed and how, perhaps we could just eliminate having to open the roms in mame. Maybe that's what you're doing already and if so, GREAT!
  8. So if it only does this for new roms (ones you haven't played yet), there are 2 options. 1) Turn on the machine in screen saver mode and let it run for a LONG time. Probably set the time to switch games to the minimum time (~1 minute or so). Make sure you have an older version of MAME installed (pre 0.116). 2) Keep a keyboard handy for the next few weeks so that any new games can be dealt with. 3) You can also use the left/right movement on the joystick instead of pressing ok. I don't know if this will work with your cab's config as I don't know if you have a joystick (could be just a trackball or spinner potentially). 4) Just stick with an older version of MAME (pre 0.116) for a while until this is sorted out. I'll probably use option 4 since my roms are only up to date to 0.115 anyway.
  9. Just a quick note, but a LOT of the people using the WinGun drivers are Topgun owners. Apparently, those included EMS drivers suck hard (for emulation anyway)! Definitely give WinGun a try and if needed, check out their forums. As I recall, they were pretty active and could help. There is a search feature there (obviously), so you should be able to find any details you might need without even waiting for a response!

Just a quick note: All of the DB's are done except for PS3, Wii, and XBox360. The database here should probably be updated to include the last couple files.

    pong

There is another thread that's active right now that talks about MAMEPlus! Apparently, one of it's features is that it plays other systems that are not included in the core MAME build (HazeMD for one). Apparently, it also plays some unofficial roms that MAME doesn't. One of these is Pong! I haven't tried it yet, but I will be soon since it seems to have some other nice features.

I wasn't sure what they were... My guess was phones or palm devices based on the release dates of the software, but I couldn't tell.

I actually don't recommend doing Xbox 360, PS3, or Wii since they are adding so many games right now and an emulator is WAAAAAY down the road. If someone else wants to do it, great... Nintendo DS _Handheld__Nintendo_DS.zip

Shoot Actually, I never checked to see what the categories were. I saw [PC] and [Console], but didn't know about [Handheld]. Are there any more that I should be aware of?! BREW _PC__BREW.zip

Wow, I guess I've been slacking while I've been sleeping Do you think I should change the file name for the ST, or just let Tom do it later. I'll probably mess up again on these old POS systems Xbox _Console__Xbox.zip

  23. The latest version of MAME Plus! is 0.116U2b. So I imagine that would be the source of the problem! Btw, I've been trying to figure out what MAME Plus! offers that the official build doesn't. I've tried looking at the "Features" tab a number of times, but I keep getting a 404, so I guess that's no longer a valid page. Any suggestions?
  24. Wow Glad things are working better!
  25. Just as an FYI: Pretty much the only features that aren't available in the non-donation version are ones that Tom had to pay for or are above and beyond what one would typically use on an arcade cabinet (as far as I can tell). Now, with that said, these are very cool features and even if you don't use them, Tom works hard and has earned that gratitude either way , but the free version should suffice in basic cabinets. But, that's just my opinion, so take it at face value!
