  1. Do you mean the NES's reset button or the PC's reset button. If you are wiring the NES's reset button to a button, that's easy (XPadder, AHK, AI, etc.). If you are talking about the PC's reset button, that's more complicated (maybe an AHK/AI/other script?). Which is it? A little more description of what you are building would help answer this question better.
  2. I can't tell you if it's faster on Intel as I haven't run one in years. I know that there have been a lot of threads here that discuss disabling -triplebuffer when you experience choppy sound, so you might want to give that a try. If you have a multithreaded cpu, you might also try the -mt switch.
  3. HEHE, I've done that too. I wanted 'Enter' to be the select key, but in Brian's patched version of MAME 119 it was TAB. I changed it to NONE so that I could start from scratch and poof...no select key Actually, that wasn't the first time
  4. Good to know. Thanks for getting back to us on that!
  5. Some emulators need to have HideDesktop=False (or is it ShowDesktop=True)
  6. After reviewing again, it does in fact look like I was right the first time. The labels I assign in CPWizard should be the control numbers for the physical device (GP-Wiz buttons in my case). So, I need to have Joycode_1_Button1 through Joycode_1_Button32 to have full GP-Wiz support. Thanks!
  7. Good points. I've been primarily using GameEx on my cab with a TV as the display which has piss poor resolution. I wasn't able to read most of the menus easily on the Setup Wizard, so I usually just use the Advanced Config Wizard instead. But, it's definitely true that moving emu's around is a lot easier in the Setup Wizard!
  8. I think there is even a way to do this in windows without needing to install anything. I know you can do this with the arrow keys/num pad, but I'm not positive about joysticks/game pads. Unfortunately, I haven't used this feature in a LONG time, so I can't remember how to get it going.
  9. I'll give it a look. I've only really used the direction and buttons though. I'm going to need to get rotary in there as well. I think MAME calls it "Positional_Dec" and "Positional_Inc".
  10. I wasn't aware that the Setup Wizard had ALL of the options in it. I thought if you needed to edit new features, you had to use the Advanced Config Wizard (like I don't think eBooks are in HK's tool ATM).
  11. Yeah, the GP-Wiz (GP stands for Game Pad) is a joystick emulator. It has 2 axis and 32 buttons. There is another version I just switched to (GP-WizRX-ST) which adds rotary support but removes a few buttons. Anyway, MAME recognizes all buttons and axis from the GP. I haven't actually gotten the rotary working yet, but when I do...IKARI HERE i COME! I'm assuming then that the 10 buttons are the 10 listed in MAME. So I just need to get the MAME labels on the buttons they are used for. In that case, I'll give this a try today and hopefully be using it by this evening. BTW, has Tom mentioned anything about including this in GameEx seamlessly to replace the current built-in CP viewer?
  12. Jumped in, but noone there. Good to hear your back!
  13. NICE, well then I'll just wait for 8.89 to get them!
  14. You can do anything you can think of through AHK or AI. You just need to decide what you want and then you can write a script to do it. If you need help, Brian, myself, or someone else here can guide you.
  15. Here's my babies. They've moved around since this picture and are both running different themes now, but they both proudly run GameEx!
  16. I used CPViewer and Johnny5 in the past, but there was never any interest in having them incorporated directly in GameEx. I don't know c#, so I wasn't able to put anything together myself as a plugin to incorporate them. Your CPWizard is much nicer and appears to be easier to use than the other two as well as more powerful. With that said, I did play around with it and got the labels and background where I need them, but when I went to change what the labels referred to, there were only choices of P1, P2, P3, P4 B1-B10. Maybe what I'm missing is that these are what they are called in MAME? If so, that would make sense and there are no issues. I didn't give it a try since I had other things to move on to. Thanks!
  17. I actually already grabbed this...NICE WORK!
  18. I just looked, and xvid is listed as using the libavcodec. I don't have any other choices...
  19. Maybe you could add a thread (or just put in your first post of this one) a link to the correct finished (or most current) MDB's. I would put them on my cab if I were sure I was getting the correct ones!
  20. Download is currently working...
  21. I've been putting some more time into the CPWizard setup on my cab and I ran into a fairly major limitation. Perhaps you are already planning on updating this for v1.01, but can you add more buttons for each controller. The current version only lists 10 buttons for each controller, but my GPWiz has 32 buttons. Thus, I am currently unable to use your great looking package. Thanks for the great work!
  22. In case you missed it (which you probably haven't), the coin and start controls are not in the general commands under P1 or P2, they are under the bottom menu (I forget what it is...others perhaps). Anyway, look around and you should be able to get everything going!
  23. Hmmm, I just tried it last night and it turned out that I wasn't able to get Spesoft Backup to connect to a network share. I was able to browse to the files, but it couldn't figure out how to connect. It's like it required a login (which I don't have). I looked into DOpus, but I'm not interested in paying $89+ AUD for a single license. It did look really good, but I just don't think I would use it enough. Anyway, I'm going to stick with SyncBack for the moment. If/when something else comes along or someone recommends another option, I will reevaluate. Thanks for all the input!
  24. I think the problem is that most people think they are in work and they don't want to mess with a developmental DB. If it were listed as in Beta, I bet there would be a LOT more downloads. Sad truth is that I haven't even had time to get these on my system yet.
  25. I'm going to have to head over and take a look! Thanks Circo.
