  16. I've talked with Wolfman about his new Metal Slug hi-score. He wasn't planning to submit this hi-score because his initials are not in the screenshot. I told him I have no reason to believe this score is not legitimate. So.....great hi-score Wolfman !! That puts you in the #1 spot Updated OP, DB, RSS, LB

  19. @ Helpman > thank you That's a great idea !! We'll use this sheet as reference for our future game settings. I noticed not all of our hi-score games are on this list but those who aren't require default settings to play. At least the ones I have screened When a game is on this list we'll use these settings. When it's not we'll use the game's default settings - which are probably the correct TG settings. I however think the list covers pretty much every game I've adjusted the Hi-score competition rules accordingly. @ Draco / Adultery / wolfman: that's why I love this community. Helping each other out. Thank you guys !! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- @ Dazz: I'll only charge £10. Special price for my GameEx friends LOL To quote what I have previously posted at the TG forum: "TG was and is or at least should be about tracking world records and be considered THE place of displaying the best game high scores worldwide. This should be their core business. Not spending money by organizing events which only a happy few can attend. Playing (classic) games is a worldwide hobby and TG can only maintain its past succes if it accommodates that majority. Deciding otherwise will result in nothing but failure" Guinness dropped them as the official subsmission source a while ago because TG decided to ask money for hi-score submissions. That's against Guinness' policy. I don't think TG has deleted highscores. Perhaps when they come to their senses - which I doubt with the current management - the scoreboard will perhaps be online again. I really hope so. In the mean time > let's enjoy playing arcade games and compete for great hi-scores amongst us friends
  20. Congratulations Helpman !! I've really tried to beat your hi-score but I couldn't even hit the 100K mark It's a really tough score to beat. But I'll keep trying In the next couple of days you'll receive your personal banner for winning the December's Game of the Month competition !! Thank you for your enthusiasm playing our hi-score games. It's very much appreciated and we are glad to have you as a hi-score member
  21. I've posted a new thread about Twin Galaxies (link). I think we have no other choice than using the game's default settings from now on. Would you be so kind to edit post #1 and publish the game's default settings. If you agree using default settings of course UPDATE: please use the settings of post #1 Thanks, GC
  22. Twin Galaxies' change of management was not a good thing unfortunately. The new management of TG seem to have ruined everything with their "ask (too much) money for hi-score submissions" policy. This new management and their arrogance towards their members with their new policy is a shame if you ask me . Logically they were receiving a lot less hi-score submissions comparing to the old TG website and now the scoreboard is offline completely. A little background info: Co-owner GamerLife365 came aboard early 2013 and developed the new TG website and now their vision for Twin Galaxies no longer seems to be in alignment with the vision of the other owners. Quoting GamerLife365: ----------- "Why is this change happening? As the newest co-owners of Twin Galaxies, we came aboard earlier this year and brought our expertise in digital marketing and technology, and a life-long passion for video game culture. We set out to take the website and online presence in a new direction, help restore integrity in the iconic company, and help TG regain its rightful place in the global gaming community. We developed the social website and scoreboard systems for use by the Twin Galaxies community and worked tirelessly for months to build on Walter Day's vision. It was working. On November 20th, it was made abundantly clear that our vision for Twin Galaxies was no longer in alignment with the vision of the other owners, and we were moving in very different directions. Although, we don't know what the future holds for Twin Galaxies, we do sincerely hope that Walter's legacy and vision for the gaming community, which we all believe in and worked hard to keep alive, will live on and endure for many many years to come. Give them some time to get a site online, and please continue to support Twin Galaxies. GamerLife365.com will be here to support and partner with any individual or organization that is focused on advancing the global video game community and the many talented people who possess a passion for video games. We hope you login often and enjoy the site, its yours!" ----------- and... ----------- "The new venture is simply everything the new Twin Galaxies was going to be without the Twin Galaxies scoreboard. Gamerlife365 is NOT Twin Galaxies. We understand the confusion, but this is a site made by gamers, for gamers. We wanted something that didn't exist, and our technology team was able to make it happen. Unlike TG, gamer feedback is absolutely encouraged" ----------- The Twin Galaxies scoreboard records are not in the ownership of GamerLife365 but with the new management of Twin Galaxies. As a result the scoreboard is no longer online. GamerLife365 is only offering a stand alone social network for former registered members of Twin Galaxies. Accounts are still active for posting in their forum but the scoreboard is no longer online. Maybe in the future the new management of Twin Galaxies may reinstate the scoreboard but when - and if - is not clear It's a shame if you ask me . I feel sorry for Walter Day as the founding father of tracking (arcade) game hi-scores since 1981 and being a supplier of official world records for so long. What does this mean for our hi-score competition... Up until now we've been using the official Twin Galaxies settings for each of our hi-score games. Of course we wil keep the settings of each hi-score game. For future games however we will be using the game's default settings * as we can no longer check the TG-settings anymore. When / If TG's scoreboard will be reinstated we can always decide to again use the TG game settings. EDIT: we will be using the attached sheet as reference for our future game settings (thank you Helpman for this great idea). This sheet is a backup of a lot of TG game settings. When a game is on this list we'll use these settings. When it's not we'll use the game's default settings - which are probably the correct TG settings. I however think the list covers pretty much every game. Let's focus on what is most important: play and enjoy those arcade classics and compete in our friendly GameEx Hi-Score competition tgts.pdf
