  1. VICTORY!!! Thanks, Brian!!!!!!!!!!! Note: I had to change the command line from Command=..\VPinball.exe -play -"[ROMFILE]" to Command=..\VPinball.exe -play -"[ROMpath]\[ROMFILE]" And, I changed my working path to where my app resides, not my tables folder. Odd: it seems that when I quit out of Visual Pinball then exit GameEX, I see the AutoIT program running in the system tray. When I hover over it, it disappears. Weird! I'm assuming that's nothing funky. THANKS AGAIN for the help! Will give it a more detailed check when I get home from work (just gave it a once-over during my lunch break).
  2. Any luck on finding that config for us chumps that can't get it to work?? Thanks again for the help!
  3. Thanks much for your help! Look forward to seeing the config!
  4. I too am having the same problem! I tried copying the loader to the same directory as vpinball.exe, but no love... Help! I'm so sad. Also, I tried decompiling the VPinball_Loader.exe, but AutoIt is saying it's not an AutoIt script... weird! What directories does VPinball_Loader.exe look for? Can someone post the decompiled script?
  5. Thanks, man!! Can't wait to give this a try. Won't have access to my HTPC until after the weekend (grrrr) but when I do I will be giving this a whirl! Thanks again!
  6. Tom, Rob, thanks for your help. Looks like it's time to bite the bullet and buy a better video card, ehh? Thanks again!!
  7. Yep, my PS2 maps the d-pad to specific buttons. You kick so much ass for recompiling for me! This is my ideal setup: Insert Quarter - Button 7 Start Game - Button 12 Flipper Left - Button 5 Flipper Right - Button 6 Nudge Table Left - Button 16 Nudge Table Right - Button 14 Nudge Table Forward - Button 13 Up/Down/Left/Right (BabyPac, etc.) - X/Y Axis (analog stick) Plunger - Button 3 Volume Up - Button 4 Volume Down - Button 2 Thanks so much!
  8. Hey DJ This KeyMonitor thing is great! Only problem: The left flipper is not working for me. Is there a way of changing the button assignments with your app? Thanks for your help!
  9. Tom, thank you so much for all of your help on this. I am using an AMD Athlon 1.92 GHz with 480 MB of RAM. Guess what! Works when I switch it to use 16 Bit color! Bizarre that this happened on the upgrade... wonder if the new version increased RAM requirements juuuuust enough to make this happen? Either way, might be time for me to buy more RAM. Thanks again for your help!!
  10. Attached. Thanks! log.zip
  11. Here you go. Thanks!!! log.zip
  12. Attached is the debug log. Didn't update my drivers recently... Tried increasing onboard graphics ram, still no luck (darn!!). log.zip
  13. No love... does not work with the default theme. Also, I tried removing GameEX and starting with a fresh install. Still does not work: Same errors.
  14. Still not working in 4.80... but get this! It crashes when I select "Play this game," but it still plays games in attract mode! Also, it crashes when I select "Update list." Using MAME32 version 0.96. GameEX was working before flawlessly, and this is an upgrade. Any advice? Thanks so much! GameEx.zip
  16. Excellent, this script works great, DJ! Tom, thanks for your hard work in getting Pinball to work with GameEX!
  17. This is a repost (sorry) from a different thread, but it may help for people only looking here: I too was having an issue where I had to click on the table in order to force the game to start. I believe this problem developed when I updated to the newest version of Visual Pinball. With a bit of searching, I found an AutoIt file on the VPForums posted by a guy named eXentric. I just replaced the vpauto.exe that came with GameEX with this one (renamed it to vpauto.exe) and it works fine. Tom, maybe you want to decompile his script to see what he did different? Anyway, it's attached here. vpa1.1.zip

  19. Just checking back... any thoughts on this? Thanks!
  20. Doesn't work... If I set GameEx to 640x480, after I select a game it will not get as far as even launching MAME before it crashes... Usually when you select a game, you get the white info pop-up at the bottom of the screen, but that doesn't come up. GameEx crashes the second I select a game when it's set to 640x480. Attached in a zip file are my most recents ini and configs. Thoughts? Thanks! settings2.zip
  21. Right on! I'll give that a try. Since it seems like every emulator can run at 640x480, but many can't handle 800x600, I'll try standardizing all of them to 640x480 (and even my windows desktop) to the same resolution. I will post results shortly! Thanks again Tom!
  22. I have a WinXP box hooked up to my TV via S-Video. My graphics card is built in to the NVidia GeForce 4 MX Integrated GPU. After a ton of tests, here's what I've come up with. In order to successfully exit from an emulator twice in a row (and not receive a crash and log), the resolution I have GameEx set to MUST match the emulator settings. If I set GameEx to 640x480, then Gens works (native res is 640x480, and can't be changed). But, if I do this, then GameEx won't launch MAME (can it launch MAME if set to 640x480? It crashes when I try to launch a game when set that way). So, I'm at a loss. If I set GameEx to 640x480 I lose MAME, but if I set it to 800x600 I lose emulators that can't scale to that resolution (Gens, Stella). Attached to this post is my ini and log in a zip file (settings.zip). Thanks so much for your help... I'm at a loss! settings.zip
  23. This is an interesting problem, though. It seems that with some emulators, you cannot pick a resolution (e.g. Gens, A26), which means that if the screen resolution doesn't match GameEx, you get the crash after two consecutive exits from games of that emulator. At least, that's what I think is happening...
  24. AHAAA!!!! Figured it out!! I started toggling through each of the resolution options in the emulator. Turns out, if I use a "Full" mode, I get the error. But, if I use a "Windowed" mode, everything is fine! Which is okay, since the 800x600 windowed mode fills the screen, and has no sign of a window. Phew!!! Attached for the first post, for reference, if you still need it.
  25. Bummer... I switched it to do a simple Escape button-press (no alt-f4) and made sure the key mapping was set to true. Unfortunately, I'm still having the same problem. I tried using snes9x, but got the same results: 20 consecutive errors message whenever I bail from the 2nd game. Any thoughts? Thanks a ton for the help!
