@Tom Speirs Just updated from 4.6X to most recent 4.78.  Looks like PinMame in PBX doesn't display.  Everything else displays fine: DMD vids/pics/FX3 stuff...just pinmame is blank.  Tried to back up to 4.77...also was a no-go...matter of fact that one stayed on whatever was displayed previously and never called PinMame.  I use PinDMDv3.  Going to go back to 4.6X for the time being.

Hello,

PinballX seems doesn’t work anymore since the last update (20H2) of Windows 10 : pinballX exits at fast scroll, and freeze as soon as a table is launched.

Is it possible to fix it in a new version please ?
Thank you for your work.

Hi Tom,

I noticed that after updating to this latest version, whenever I try to view Instruction on Pinball FX3 tables the front end will just close. This doesn't happen with the Visual Pinball tables. By the way, thanks for getting that conversion feature implemented. Anyway, not quite sure what can be done about the drop out, or maybe I am missing something. Just thought I would let you know.

Thanks!

Default filters are removed and are replaced by filters ( you can setup your own filters)

Check Databasemanager for easy creating of filters and the results.

(Please use the pinballx general form for questions)

Hi,
I have a portable version of  Pinball Arcade (1.71.21) that sometimes works and sometimes doesn't, depends on PinballX version. It worked on version 5.22, but not in version 5.28.
Now with the version 5.28, PinballX is not able to launch the program (I see the wheel image and just after it comes back to the menu).
Remark : Pinball FX3 works.

My settings are simple :

[System_3]
Name=Pinball Arcade Full
Enabled=True
SystemType=0
WorkingPath=C:\Games\ThePinballArcade
Executable=PinballArcade11.exe

Probably a stupid question, but I downloaded the 5.41 update and wondering if I install over top of the current pinballX or if that will Replace my folders (tables folder for example) with an empty folder?  I don't want to lost anything I've got in there already.  Not sure how to proceed.

There is pinballx documentation that exactly describes an upgrade process. An upgrade from w7/vista pinballx to .net core could cause a database overwrite (for fx3 i noticed this a couple of times)

Always good to backup your database files

Is there a link to the prior version(s) .. having problems with this latest one after the update.

There is, but there is a bug in the forums that will be fixed in the next version that prevents downloading. Normally you just click the changelog.

Screenshot function broken in 5.52, pressing "s" takes a screenshot of the DMD and places it on the playfield.  Reverted back to 5.51 and working correctly again.

I have been using PinballX for Visual Pinball on my desktops since 2016 and have been really satisfied up soo far. But I am not really happy with the update v5.53. First of all the Game Manager goes berserk over names with special icons like the ' for instance. It thinks of all the games wich have these are new. It reads my previous saved file from Al's Garage like Al&pos;s Garage So I re-imported those. But then the media cannot be found. In the frontend it says Al&pos;s Garage in the default font when I changed the name to Al's Garage. The only solution is to remove the ' entirely. And this is clearly something that you guys changed recently but did not test correct. Also the old style with all the curves and shapes on the wheel looks a million times better than the linear style. It's called a wheel, not a ruler... This update should be withdrawn and you guys should remember to not fix what wasn't broken to begin with. Updating a IPDB database is all a update should have. And if you want visual changes give us at least the option to change it back. Or better make it a version 6.00 if you want visual updates

I can address all of that if you want to do something productive and get involved.

Old versions have always been available. Just click change log. The ruler is an option not fixed.

Tom made an option in the settings.exe file to use the wheel (default) or the new straight one.
