Does not mater if I try changing settings inside GameEX or before its launched,settings are not being saved.I have tried 6 times to change from full screen to windowed,and it just keeps going back to fullscreen

If you run the Setup Wizard and change the setting, exit and run the Setup Wizard again is the setting still changed?

Heres the thing.if I change the setting,exit out,relaunch set wiz,the setting is what i just set it to,but it has no effect.its set to windowed,but it still launches fullscreen

@Mesk - Is this occurring when running Setup Wizard from within GameEx or outside of GameEx?

UPDATE:when using set wiz IN GameEX,the settings always revert back.using the set wiz outside of GameEX shows the changed setting,but doesnt have any effect

According to the original post it's occurring during both.

Does not mater if I try changing settings inside GameEX or before its launched,settings are not being saved.I have tried 6 times to change from full screen to windowed,and it just keeps going back to fullscreen

I can not duplicate this issue. Perhaps as Tom suggested. Can you give more details on when this started happening?

Well it started today,but TBH,this is the first time i have changed settings since updating to 11.84.I usually switch to windowed mode when updating my mame list.and i just updated to MAME 0143

It doesnt seem to be related to the theme im using,i just tried media center,abyss & the theme i always use,blackglass and the result is the same throughout

no luck.it seems as if changing any setting under display has no effect on theme.i have tried to change the font,the font size,outline of the text and none of those have any effect at all

also before 11.84 you could click the top right corner and go from full to windowed.you also could do that by hitting alt+enter.both of those options are no longer avalable

LOL ok for some reason there is another setting inside of enable\disable called "allow window resizing" and that was set to "no" after setting that to yes,i can now change from FS to window,from the set wiz,or just by pressing alt+enter.just out of curiosity,exactly why is that setting there? xD

BUT,that doesnt change the fact that i still cant change the font style,font size and a few other options.

It's there for just that reason. To resize. When troubleshooting (you should know) that I run GameEx windowed as remote software doesn't play well with fullscreen apps. The option to resize the windows gives me the ability to make it the size I need to see whatever else I'm doing on the screen.

I would try maybe an offline install and see if your problems go away as I'm unable to duplicate. Then next step would be is to reboot. :P

Glad you brought up a offline install.I will be switching out my cab PC in the next week or so.what exactly do i need to do so that i do not have to setup all my emulators again?

Nothing! Your settings should stay intact. Just simply install over your current version in case there was corruption when installing from the updater. You can backup if your files if you wanna be extra safe. So simply download GameEx from the main site and install from there.

I dont think its a bug but normal behaviour. If font settings etc are set for the theme in theme.ini then the options in the setup wizard will have no effect.

its not bug at all Tom.I figured out problem #2.the whole problem was those settings i tried changing (font size,font type etc..) were all set in the theme ini to a specific setting.by deleting them and leaving it blank,im able to make all the changes from the setup wizard.
