Dear Forum,

I hope someone can help as my GameEx won't start any more.

I added my GameEx.ini and the Log.txt. Here you can see that an error with DirectX is indicated. GameEx was working several months until I updated it. Since then this error occurs.

I went for dxdiag and all the tests are passed with no problems. It's DirectX 9.0c (I think the newest version).

I'm using a Jamma Cab with Arcade Monitor. My PC is a HP Workstation xw4200 (P4 3.4GHz, 1024MB RAM) with Windows XP (Professional 5.1 Build 2600).

It could be an issue with Ultimarc's ArcadeVGA2(PCIe); the drivers on my CD are in the folder XPPCIE and named CA35000 or CX35000.

What can I try or do to fix the problem? Do you need any more information or additional log files?

Pleas help,

Yours

Christian

I noticed in the log file that you are showing GameEx version 11.72 installed. Can you please try installing the latest (11.81) and let me know if you are still experiencing the same issue?

You are correct in that DirectX 9.0c is the latest version for Windows XP. Dx10 is Vista exclusive, 10.1 Vista and Server 2008, and DX11 Vista SP2 and 2008 SP 2 and Win 7.

Thanks for your fast answer. How can I update GameEx while it is not starting? Just download the new version and install it? What about my configuration if I do so? What files to backup before new installation?

Backup your gameex.ini file just to be safe or your gameex folder if uncertain. Usually, downloading and installing will fix a few issues and will not overwrite your existing configuration.
