So I installed GameEX with no problems, setup my .exe and rom paths, love the interface and simplicity and yet I just can't seem to figure out how to update the game list once inside the program. I was able to do it somehow for MAME, but for non-mame emulators (NES, Genesis, Nintendo 64, etc.), I'm having no luck. I've read countless threads, and watched the how to videos, but they all seem to end saying, "Don't forget to update your game list inside GameEx", but don't actually explain how to do that. If anyone can tell me what I'm missing it would be greatly appreciated.

Once you have the emulators installled and ROM paths, snap paths, etc. are setup within, you will need to look into each emulators options to see if there is an audit feature. That will update dat or whatever other file formats where they store the info. GameEx has integrated MAME support for updating the game list, but not for the other emulators.

Best thing you could do to help us help you is to post the GameEx.ini or the specific emulator's INI file.

Hello and welcome to our forums! Emulator lists don't have an option to update. This action is done in code based off changes in setup (i.e. ROM path, filters, etc.). The cached files are called map files and they are generated in the DATA directory of your you GameEx Install. They are named by emulator number. For instance:

EMU_3.map

So simply delete these files and the lists will be rebuilt.

Thanks for the help everyone. Apparently I was looking for something that didn't exist. All of my game lists are updating correctly now, although I am having some other issues with non-MAME emulators which I will start a new topic for. Thanks again.
