Does anyone know what configuration file contains the background file names for each of the emus and MAME? I am trying to get the custom menus to pull the correct files and hitting against the wall.

The files are stored in the MEDIA folder of the selected theme. MAMEBak.png is the name for the background file for MAME. emubak.png is the default for Emulators. For a custom one then these files need to be saved in the MEDIA folder and can be selected in the Emulator Setup section, Custom Background setting. And the data will be saved in the GameEx.ini file of course.

d'OH! It was late and I had house guests distracting me and that's my story!

New issue - anyone ever experience the Menu bar disappearing? It shows placement in the theme, but when I load GameEx, no menu bar.

By Menu Bar you mean like more, create snaps, home, etc?

Hmm, is your font size exceeding the size allotted for the tool bar maybe? Just taking a stab at this.

Nope. It is smaller that normally used. It showed once when I first started working on my new theme, then vanished. It did, however, reappear when I loaded another theme, so I will try reloading it as if I am starting a new one to see if this remedies the issue.

EDIT: I am not sure exactly how it happened and why it would not resolve, but the X coordinates were out of range for the Menu bar. Odd thing is that when I changed the version indicator from 4 to 3, the menu bar reappeared. Change to 4, disappeared, even after manually correcting the out of range coordinate. I then copied all of the data except the coordinate/size info in the Layout section to a copy of another Version 4 theme that worked without a problem and this restored the Menu bar. Odd indeed. I wonder if we may have a bug in how Version 4 themes are handled?
