Just got my complimentary copy of Project Arcade by John St. Clair (Saint) arrive in the post. GameEx gets a nice and positive mention and InstantSheller is on the CD.

Things like this make me smile :)

That is awesome! Think he would mind you scanning the part about GameEx and sharing with the community?

Yeah, probably not a good idea while the book is being been published. Its about half a page on GameEx. ArcadeOS, Mala, HS, and a few others get get half a page too. GameEx gets a purely positive write up and later on in the book he does build a cabinet that uses GameEx (have not read that part yet).

That's awesome news! Thanks for sharing! Congratulations! Wow that's a log of exclamation points. LOL.

I didn't know we had 6 previous reasons to be cheerful.

Well, it's $16.49 US for the Kindle edition... hmmm... wonder what my wife will say.. lol!

Mine won't let me look at the kindle I got her, let alone read a book on it! Ha!

I'd still like to have a copy of that book though.

You can still get it - just load the Kindle for PC app on your PC and purchase it with her account! That way, you can read books she has as well as ones you order. That's how my wife and I do it for now (until I can find a new job and can afford a Kindle or some other pad of my own).

BTW - the price I originally quoted as $16.49 US is for the first edition. Just released (and at $10.99 US and $19.57 US through Amazon.com) is the Second Edition copy. I wonder if the Kindle version has links to the software copies that are on the CD? Of course, at that price, I might just grab a copy of each - one for the Kindle and one for placing under my pillow in anticipation of a visit by the Arcade Fairy!

.:.EDIT - Just bought the Kindle Edition and the links are there for the software on the CD. Also got lots of purdy pics and great mention of GameEx! Woot!

/me envious

I got a Kindle app for the Galaxy S, but I think it would be groovy to actually hold the book, ya know? I read one book a year and she reads one a week. I'm holding out for a Xoom. :)

It was a good read - I tend to devour books that are well-written and of a topic of interest fairly quickly. Will probably buy the real book to get the CD. I am also interested in either a Xoom or one of the other tabs when I get my cash flow going again.

Funny how that works! I notice I have a lot less toys when I'm in a relationship. Now that I'm single I've been building up stuff that I want. LOL. Usually though when I settle down, I buy my stuff in pairs. Can't have them having something that I don't have. Cuz we all know we won't be able to use it much or at all for that matter. :D

My wife always tells me that "He who dies with the most toys does not win, he just dies with a bunch of junk the widow has to yard sale." I point out the shoes and clothes which she promptly reminds me that they are to be worn. You can't wear an arcade machine or an Xbox or a laptop to work. I guess she is right, but I think that for most of us males (and some females) that Pokemon had it right - you gotta have'em all!

What kind of spouse would I be if I didn't leave some sort of "nest egg" behind, no? ;)
