Recent problem with external applications

I have recently come into a problem with menus in GameEx. It started when the menus went into the "shadowing" effect. I don't know if that is a coincidence or not. Anyhow, two of my menu options are external apps, Google Chrome and WinTV. They both worked great going out of GameEx and going back in. But ever since the new, more active menus, whenever I try to go to either app, GameEx hangs as if it is in the middle of going to the app. The only thing I can do is escape GameEx with the ESC button. Again, I didn't have any problems until the recent menus with motion were put into effect. If anyone has any suggestions or work arounds, it would be greatly appreciated.

Do you mean alpha blended menu transitions? If so you can disable this in the display options.

You can also disable Menu Animations there as well.

One thing I just discovered, if this means anything: GameEx works perfectly the first time after rebooting the system. It's only after starting GameEx again without rebooting that I have the problem. I turned off Alpha Blending and set the menus for 2d, and the problem still exists. Is it possible to reinstall a previous version of GameEx on top of the current one to try to go back to the way it was? Thanks for the input.
