I would really appreciate it if someone could help me setup Demul 0.56 gdr-image launching . I have It setup for Atomiswave and Naomi already and it works great but cannot get it to launch cdi or any other image files it just loads as if you didn't put a disk in . I have tried for almost a week now and no luck . Do any of you have a proper command line ?

So from the command-line is the only problem you're having or in general? Are you able to play an image from the gui outside of GameEx? Please give more detail so we know where to begin.

Yes . Demul runs perfectly fine from outside of Gameex . When launching from Gammex it loads Demul full screen and it boots fine just not the disk image . It goes to the dc settings/play screen .

Perhaps try the following command-line?

demul.exe -run=dc -rom="[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]"

This is untested as I don't have an image to test with at the moment.

Nope , same thing . Just loads fullscreen and goes to settings menu .

I think I may remember a problem with it from the command-line. You could just always mount the image and then load the emulator. I'll have to do some testings. Bare with me as I don't have it setup on my machine at this time.

Ok , thank you very much .

Ok. Here's the the thread where I remember this same discussion. It was never verified to work with mounting the image but I was never able to get the image running from command-line in my tests. I would try mounting real quick and give us an answer. I won't be able to test on my end till later as I have to rip an image and then test. I'm currently not at my gaming machine.

Thank you . I had read through that earlier . I was hoping to get it to work . If we don't at least it wasn't from lack of trying for sure . I appreciate the quick response and your help .If anything at least its not just me lol .

I can confirm it not working with that setting. Next solution would be to mount image which I'll be able to test in about an hour. Other solution would be to create a wrapper.

How would I create a wrapper ? Is that something you would do ? I have about 400 Dc games it would be extremely convenient ( and would make my day ) if I had the possibility of running them without mounting first ...

Well let me test first and then we'll come to the conclusion if one is required. We have many talented scriptors there that could easily whip one up if one is needed.

Update: Ok! Here's what I came up with. Am still unable to run from command-line when trying to load the image from the emulator just as my tests before. Loading the rom via an disc imaging application like Daemon Tools works just fine. It's the only solution to make it work other then having to create a wrapper/loader for it.

So to make it work. Mount the image in the Launch Before setting. Then set the GD-ROM plugin to gdrDemul. Also make sure it's set to the correct drive. Then just launch with the following command-line in GameEx:

demul.exe -run=dc

There are many topics covering the command-line for Daemon tools if you don't already know how. Search will turn up many results. If you use another mounting tool then you'll just use the command-line for that one.

I cannot get any of them to load from daemon or magic iso . I guess I'm outta luck .

Ok! What is the details of your problem? Is daemon not loading your disc images or is just the command-line part giving you problems?

The disc images are loading but demul is seeing them as cd's and not games . I read that Daemon tools 3.29 was the only one that read Dc images and it is way too old to run on my windows 7 64bit machine . Also I tried the newer version and also magic iso and no dice . I get the same result from all of them .

Hmmmmm what format are your images in cuz I'm having no problems loading a cdi image through it and I'm also using Windows 7 64bit?

Edit: Doooohhhh. My mistake. I guess I really needed to completely test. I'm still able to run the image but seems they autostart (music) after loading which is another issue. LOL. But I can still run the game.

Mostly Cdi and some ccd . They all work when run as an image .

Yeah. I didn't let the game load so It really wasn't loading. I just assumed it was. Looks like this emulator has some issues loading from command-line. Solution might have to be with a loader/wrapper to make it work with DC images. Unless other users have experience in this and care to chime in. I don't use this emulator so haven't really fully tested. Let's see what others have to say.

Please refrain from asking where games are obtained. This is against forum rules.
