X-Arcade Dual Stick and custom controls?!

Hi there,

i am a registered gameex user and i would like to customize my x-arcade-input-buttons.

i am using this on a toshiba qosmio g10 laptop.

when i am setting the x-arcade up as a joystick in the gameex config tool i can use all the standart buttons AND the stick the way they are supposed to work.

when i set it up as a keyboard, i can customize all the x-arcade buttons in the config tool.

entering gameex afterwards i can use all the customized buttons, but not the stick. it just doesn't react.

directional buttons only work on my physical keyboard, but not the x-arcade

(in the config tool the x-arcade-joystick directions are perfectly recognized, also in mame)

any idea what i am doing wrong? or is it the laptop??

i'd like to help, but i'm not shure what you'r triyng to do. i also have an x-arcade. the x-arcade only send keystrokes, it's not a windows joystick.

i am trying to use the x-arcade joystick with individual button mapping - and i don't get it to work.

it just works with standart keymapping, when having checked the ...use joystick... option.

when i customize things, and check ...don't use joystick... OR ...use joystick... option i get no directional response - only the customized buttons work.

kinda hard to explain... maybe i'll just have to stick with the standart keymapping and get used to it.....

I too also have an X-Arcade dual. With a fresh insatll of GameEx, they buttons are premapped for X-Arcade. For general GameEx navigation, inside GameEx menus, you can change what buttons do what (I.e. select, back and volume) with the GameEx Setup Wizard in Advanced mode. I found that I like the Player 2 start button to be a better back button. This is just my couple of cents.

the issue remains: i can set up the custom keys including stick movement in the config tool, x-arcade being recognized perfectly and in later use the stick doesn't respond.

i'm just fine with the standart setup for now. just to keep you informed...

Hi i am a french spoken guy so m'y engllish is ont so good

I fund if younlaunch mame141 with out launch gameex you CAN configure thé xarcade in player one choose up label then puch enter and move joystick player ONe up

Do thé same with the other directions

In gameex you can after choose in keyboard the configuration you need

And dont Forget to actived numberlock on keyboard

glade i fund this forum

now i got a tankstick and in the beginning when i configure the joystick the stick dont work

but il remember that in mame i can configure the input so that was i did then i go to the keybord config of gameex and when i change he make me a config file to the cfg folder and saw that there was something write inside in xml so i can send picture how i did to work it

also remember to actived the numberlock
