[RESOLVED] GameEX not Launching Daemon tools (SSF)

Hey Guys let me start by saying i am loving GameEX so far i have 8 emulators running smooth. its been a challenge some more than others but this board has really help. even though this is my first post i did alot of searching to help me along the way. but this SSF Saturn emulator just has me stumped it works fine outside GameEx . i have done alot of searching here and tryed many diffrent things with no luck.the problem is i dont think daemon tools is launching. i have the Launch before and after set correct. but everytime i start a game it will just say drive emplty. unless i already have a image loaded in Daemon tools. then it will just lauch that game instead of the game i picked. i have it set to show desktop so i can see daemon tools never launches. im really hoping someone here can help me like ive seen so many others that have been helped. Thanx Guys

Hmm wasnt expecting that you actually have a (x86) folder...LOL.do this,do you use the setup wizard or the advanced config? why not just install daemon to your program files folder?thats where i have mine installed, all im doing is giving you my command line that i currently use

I do know that if there are spaces where there shouldnt be daemon will not work.when i first started with gameex i couldnt get ssf to work correctly it was driving me insane come to find out it was a space in tht CL that didnt belong

OFF TOPIC @adultery how does SF3 run in mame for you?just wondering if its time to say adios to the cps3 emulator

Add in another quote at the end of DTools.exe in the "launch before" so it looks like this: DTLite.exe"

Do the same in the "Launch After" line.

.:OT:. @mesk: it works and looks really nice and haven't had any lag prooblems whatsoever. I was having fun playing it and must say I was really impressed with it. :)

@griggs,just so you know,if I use gameex in window mode I dont see daemon launching, but I know it works :)

OT:I had the same results with jojo as well,no lag.Me thinks its time to delete cps3 emulator.

Adultery, will you try launching a saturn game with gameex in windowed mode and see if you see daemon launching?

I can see the dtools icon come up in the taskbar for sure but because I have it set to always show. I tested the command like pretty hard. I finally set uo my SSF just last week. He just needs to add the extra quotes and that command line should work. :)

Griggs619 - It may be helpful to post your Windows version under most circumstances, however, if you have the Program Files (x86) you have Vista or 7 64-bit installed.

All - To be honest, it shouldn't matter whether it is in the Program Files or Program Files (x86) so long as the program path is correct. The (x86) is just so that Wisat/7 64-bit will segregate the 32-bit programs installed.

ah thats right i forgot about that always show option!yes he should be all set,i remember when i first started with gameex,i couldnt for the life of me figure out why it wouldnt launch daemon and it was cause of a space LOL

@Draco could you edit that post im talking about?the OP has it listed as daemon tools freeware, but the CL that is there is not correct.and most (if not all) ppl use the free version of daemon, which is daemon tools lite.only reason im am bringing it up is to avoid unnecessary posts in the future :)

Glad you got it working. After you get it once it's not so hard. :)

I got your back though if you need me!

ssf is the most complex CONSOLE emulator to setup IMO,cause you have to mount the images, which according to a ssf site, the author is looking into having the upcoming releases accept images like pSX and such.too bad I dont speak japanese, then i would be able to talk to the ssf author!

glad you got it working griggs, let us know if you run into any other issues :)

Might need to send that to Adultery or one of the other mods (Elite Members do not have the ability to make changes to posts, only Moderators - kinda like Royalty in most countries nowadays - all the pomp, no circumstance. You still should bow or courtsey, but you won't lose your head if you don't! tongue.gif )
