[RESOLVED] Update List not showing some games

Hello,

I'm running:

GameEx 11.51

mameuifx32 .135

I seem to have a problem with the UPDATE LIST in GameEx to pull down all the games. Before I dump all my ROM files and CHD folders in the ROM folder in MAME I started with just a few 3wonders.zip, 4dwarrio.zip, 4enraya.zip and area51.zip and area51 folder with the area51.chd inside.

Now, when I run GameEx and run UPDATE LIST i get under ALL MAME GAMES the following: 4 En Raya, 4-D Warriors, PAC-MAN, Splatter House and Three Wonders. FIRST of all I'm not sure where PAC-MAN and Splatter House are coming from. They are not in my ROMS folder at all.

SECONDLY, I am baffled as to why Area51 will not show up. I DID run an AUDIT in MameUIFX32 and Area51 showed up and it did run fine out of Mameuifx32 so I know the rom file and CHD files are correct and working. Just can't seem to get it to show up in GAMEEx even after running UPDATE LIST several times and it makes it all the way through...like i said it showed all the other games but not Area51.

Am I missing something?

Thanks for any assistance.

Thanks Frequency,

Just updated to 11.52 and ran the UPDATE LIST again and it still does not show up. Any other ideas?

area51.zip and area51 folder with area51.chd inside of it are all in the rom folder and working when running out of MAME.

Thank you.

I mainly has to do with your filters. Filters can be a pain at times to get things just right. Try playing around with them. Post your gameex.ini file so we can see which the filters you're using. Can save as a text file and upload to the forums or just post the results in your post and put it in a spoiler so it doesn't take up the whole screen. Instructions on how to post the file is located here, step 2.

fReq - Can you update the "How to ask for help" thread with the instructions for posting the log.txt and gameex.ini file contents as a Spoiler?

I think all the information should be put in a spoiler except for the help section titles of course. That will separate things nicely. Thought it was be easy enough to just add the code tags but the post isn't organized nicely. Will have to re-do some of the code just to get it to work correctly. So will do it later when I have more time to spend on it.

PAC-MAN and Splatter House are in your Don't Filter these ROMS setting so that's why they show. I would also change the Only Existing Roms to Yes to only list the roms you have. Lots of filters so hard to decide exactly what you're wanting. Those 2 should get you one step closer to what you originally posted.

Ok guys....i saw in the gameex.ini file where it said GAMEFILTERON=TRUE so i changed it to false and now it shows up but can you tell me where in ADVANCED CONFIGURATION in the GUI I can fine tune it because now all the games have extra descriptions behind them in the menus.

Thanks.

One more thing....do you know why PAC-MAN and Splatter House show up in the Menu as well...I don't have them in my ROM folder.

Thanks Frequency....i just can't seem to find the filters though in the Advanced Config. I have looked through all the menus...I'm baffled.

Located in the Advanced MAME Settings. Then on the second page is where those settings start.

Dang it...well that was obvious...for some reason I never go in there because I always assume it talking about some other type of MAME called advmame.exe which I never use so I don't worry about it because I use regular MAME.

thanks for your time with this.

No problem! Let us know if those filters work out for you or if you need more help with them.
