If you know the ROM name you can remove it from the deleted list within the gameex.ini file.

If you did the delete as you noted, then you should see a list of deleted ROMs in the section excludedmameroms .

Open GameEx.ini and ctrl+f to open find window and paste that section name and then click Find Next and you should see a list of all ROMs you have excluded through the Delete function in GameEx.

Or simply use either of the config apps. In Setup Wizard go to Advanced MAME Settings and on the 4th page there is a setting called Excluded ROMs. Just remove the name of the rom you want back on the list.

have tried that but in mame advanced settings there are NO roms listed??

If the game is not listed in the excluded rom list, then you didn't delete it in GameEx. The usual reasons a game does not appear are either not working with MAME and/or MAME filtering options selection in GameEx.

Also, when in doubt, update your list!

Sir,

The game was scramble i was going threw the lst in gameex ( running ) deleting games i didn't play i accidently deleted scramble by pressing delete on my keyboard it said confirm or cancel i pressed enter and it said file excluded or summit similar and disappeared of the list, i had played it about 3-4 minutes before so i know it works the rom is still in the roms folder.

And updating my list takes about 45 minutes-55 mins.

If it was manually deleted that's where it would go for sure. If there's nothing in that list, GameEx will not filter it when you updated that list, and the changes to excluded ROMs won't commit until after the list is updated again. :)

No, don't do anything rash. :)

I need to know a couple things quick. Do you maybe have GameEx installed in two different places?

First look here: C:/GameEx

Then look here: C:/Program Files/GameEx

Also, go to Start/GameEx/Advanced Configuration, go to the last page under Advanced MAME Settings, and check the field that says 'Manually Filter These ROMs' to make sure it's not there.

Another thing I want you to try if this doesn't work, under the advanced config again, in advanced MAME settings, add this ROM to the list that says 'do not filter these roms' and update your list once again. Does the game show up?

If not, run any MAME game, then go to the start menu again, in the GameEx folder and click on run last game. Does it run the game you just played?

We'll try everything! :)

That was going to be my next thought...are you looking at the right .ini file? It should be called gameex.ini and will be dated the same as the last time you made a change (last time you deleted something in the list for instance). If you are looking at gameex-default.ini or another file, you won't see your item in the list since it's the wrong file.

sorry for the late reply ok to the answers:

Dont ask me why but for some reason we had a power cut and it turned my pc off, when i came back from work i rebooted and checked the forums then checked the ini file and what do i find a created excluderoms with all the roms i deleted there !, i would have thought a restart of GameEx would have done the trick but obviously not, i feel such an idiot now :( , please except my apologies for getting you to help when a simple reboot was all i should have done in the 1st place.

SM, Hangs head in shame as says im not worthy to be a GameEx user.
