Booting Gameex directly into Karaoke

Hey guys,

does anybody know if theres a way to boot gameex directly into karaoke?

I'm setting up a little karaoke machine and want gameex to be the frontend for it. It would be nice to hide all the extra functions of gameex and have it as simple as possible: Turn the Computer on, pick a song and sing it

You can probably just have Karaoke load, but you will still have GameEx come up first, then select Karaoke. This would be best accomplished using Custom Menus to create your GameEx/Karaoke only menu setup. That way you can design your theme around the function and have the screens you need (Start - Karaoke - Exit). You may wish to consider having two user setups to GameEx on the machine where you can logon to GameEx with an admin setup and one for guests with less options.

Taken from the FAQ:

Q: Can I use multiple configurations to launch GameEx only for Games or only for Karaoke and so on?

A: Yes, GameEx has command line support, so you can create shortcuts that launches GameEx with different settings, like with the screen rotated for a vertical monitor, just for HTPC use, etc.

Example:

Make a copy of your gameex.ini and rename it to allfeatures.ini or something. Then turn off all your settings in your original .ini to create a light version.

Create a shortcut for your full configuration GameEx with this commandline: gameex.exe config="c:\program files\gameex\config\allfeatures.ini"

and then there is fReq's suggestion... a question, though. What would you recommend so that the user can "take control" in the event that there needs to be some sort of intervention, maintenance, etc.?

Would still be the same as any other time. Just use one of the configuration apps to change settings. chriss is pretty knowledgeable when it comes to that. Can tweak to his liking so that any other features needed can be accessed still. Good luck on the project chriss!

i didnt find a way to make gameex boot directly into the karaoke list... i would need something like the arcade mode of gameex but for karaoke
