I don't have it installed, but by the looks of it, it's more of a basic frontend than anything else. So no fancy graphics or anything, but it offers more categories to organize the games with. Tom put out a video of GameEx working over GameBase and it looked pretty good. But still, I don't know if there is a tremendous benefit over the simplicity of how GameEx sets things up.

A GUI FE within a GUI FE within a GUI OS. From what I understand from those using it it works very well. I would be hesitant perhaps with systems at closer to minimum hardware recommendations.

Draco Im lost by this.are you saying that gamebase has a high system requirement?or that using both gamebase and gameex would lag on a lesser system?

Anytime you are using a GUI you are demanding more from the GPU and potentially the CPU for drawing the additional graphics.

The more layers, the greater potential. May not see as much of a performance hit on moderate to high-end systems with more GPU RAM and/or system RAM available.

Machines at the lower end of GameEx recommended minimums will have a greater potential for this. Also, keep in mind that some emulators are themselves GUIs instead of direct command line systems.

As far as I am aware, GameBase minimum requirements on their own are not that high. The combination, however, may be higher.
