[RESOLVED] How do you replace WinXP's intro screens

Anyone have a solution to replacing all intro and exit screens for WinXP? I'd like it to just be a black screen into GameEx startup from the BIOS checks.

Thanks,

Have you used Toms instant sheller?

You may also use a program called "bootskin" to load windows with a different look and "logon studio" to change the windows logon interface.

Both programs by stardock and both have free versions.

Mine starts with a mame interface, looks like a built-in Arcade Machine's S.O..

+1 for Stardock. I use several of their apps. They're intuitive and easy to use!

Stardock Bootskin is the program that Dante and Adultery are referring to and it works well with W2K, XP, Vista and 7. You can download the Vista and XP versions here. Logon Studio can be found here.

Stardock has quite a few theme-changing programs. My only caution is that you are adding another program to the mix (which has it's own memory and space demands) so keep this in mind. If using InstantSheller, other than the Logon or Boot Screen changes will be a waste and unnecessary load on system resources.

I don't shell my logon screen but I use bootskin and WindowBlinds on my Vista lappy and haven't noticed any performance lag at all. My lappy is a beast though.

Great! That's what I am looking for. I'm good once GameEx starts as is covers everything, but getting in and out is what I want to cover now. Just a seemless start-up and exit in and out of GameEx.
