No guide, but there are options in Advanced Configuration to launch programs as apps. If you are good at designing basic web pages, you could also lauch as a web site with shortcut links.

SInce Steam uses gameid links you may have to launch Steam first unless someone else knows of a better way.

EDIT: I tried running Steam as an app but ran into some errors with the load through GameEx. I believe, however, that you can load the individual games by using the bat or exe file for the game directly through path drive:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steamapps\common\game folder . Launching them from a programmable launch script or menu may be preferable since there are a limited number of application slots available.

Well, I did find a basic game launcher for Windows that can be launched from GameEx with very little memory footprint. The author's site can be found here called Game Launcher. I was able to launch most of the games I have downloaded from Steam with the obvious exception of those that require launching through the Steam launcher.

Game Launcher (not to be confused with the emulator launcher/frontend by the same name) will load, allow you to select the game and will also allow you to load box art files. It will display them to the right and will also display the box art from the last 8 games played above the installed games list. When you select a game, it launches and Game Launcher will then unload from memory. When you exit the game, you will then go back to GameEx.

fRequEncy - I saw on another thread that you had been playing Alien Swarm. Are you using the Steam launcher? I know that, with a little work, you can load some games that are purchased through Steam directly as opposed to using the launcher while otehrs are wrttten to be dependent upon it. I believe the same is true or some Impulse distros.

If you can create a shortcut to the actual .exe file, you should be able to launch the game up and if it requires steam 90% of the time it will load steam too. Try seeing if that works or not.

SOme of the content it is no proble - Steam is even nice enough to throw a loader at you for most of the games requiring DosBox. I know, for example,. that Alien Swarm appears to be totally dependent upon the Steam launcher. Others are hit & miss.

The GameLauncher shell is not too bad for an alternative to setting up links individually for most PC games.
