I'm getting an ipac and some buttons for xmas, so I decided to tackle the control panel in the mean time. There's a plastic sheet over rhe top of the existing one, and the only hole in it is right where the trackball is gonna go. Cue the problem. The screws that hold the plastic cover down seem like a normal hex screw, but there's a pin in the middle! I took a picture to two different hardware stores and they both said "I don't know what the heck that is!"

So the question... Anyone ever run into these before? If yes, where the hell do I find the tool that takes these damn things out? Or am I just plain screwed? (Pun intended!)

Thanks to anyone who can help me get this ugly orange camoflauge inlay outta here!

Sounds like a security torx screw. It is used to keep someone from using a standard flat head screw driver or hex bit to remove it. You can probably look at Lowe's to see if this set will work. It is by Skil for about $11.00.

Ahh these are security hex screws. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction... I found a kit that has bits for all security screws. :)

You guys rock!!
