[RESOLVED] MAME help

i have a bunch of mame roms and only a few of them come up. Why is that doing that? please help

where are these roms not showing up?in gameex?or in mame? what version rom set do you have?

It probably has to do with how your filters are set. What results are you after? What filters do you have on now? Please give more detail. Take a look at the filters and play with those settings. They are all pretty self-explanatory. You can always click on the button to get detail about a specific one. An update to your list within GameEx is required after a setting change.

ha ya i know it was very vague

i am using mame32 and all the games are showing up when i just use the mame but in gameex they are not showing up

You don't. You basically just build your roms to MAME version your using. That way they match. If they don't match then roms can not be ran correctly or at all at times.

@frequency He could know what set he has,I just cant say how he would get that info in the forum

if they are showing in mame and not gameex,frequency is most likely correct.it has to do with your filters

you could try turning off all filters,then update your list.

what games arent showing? I believe by default gameex filters out all bootleg,and prototype games.it also filters out japan,korea,asia,hispanic games

yes i did update

i turned off all the filters adn still nothing comes up

now lets talk hypothetical here is there a way to turn off the filter for bootleg games hypothetically speaking

Which few are showing? Is it like 5 or so? Have you verified the rom path? Have you verified the roms? If all filters are off then those 2 things would be the next reason for them not to show.

Check the paths for your roms and the other MAME related files. Also, post a log.

ok i think i am getting somewhere all the games are up now but they wont play when i click on them it just goes to a blank screen and then goes back to gameex

GameEx looks for MAME.exe by default. You need to change the command line to MAME32.exe I bet.
