I had tried getting ZInc up and running two other times in the last few years with no success. After getting GameEx about a year ago I thought I would give it a go again....and finally tried to get it running yesterday.

After 3 hours of reading differnt posts on various forums.... I finally figured out that I did not have a "zinc.cfg" file that GameEx and Zinc was being told to get some instructions from. I found a version of the cfg file someone had posted, made some minor edits to fit my setup, and Zinc finally worked.

So was it just me, but I didnt have this file. Does GamEx come with it? It seems that there is NO documentation of this cfg file anywhere(other than a handful of various forum posts)...was thinking maybe GameEx should come bundled with a cfg file that the user should edit to suit their needs. I had assumed it was there since everything was being told to use the file.

I had followed the directions at Arcade Controls, the post by Delusional, had to use D3d renderer to get decent fps, and create the zinc.cfg and all worked...after 4 hours. I was beginning to wonder if all the "Zinc Problems" posts may be related to a missing cfg file....or maybe that was just me.

This file is not included with the emulator nor with GameEx. If you're familiar with MAME, it's basically like the mame.ini file in which all the settings can be made within that file instead of calling them all from the command-line. As this file is not required to making this emulator work, I personally use it to make my settings and shorten the length of my ZiNc command-line.
