Important words highlighted in blue.

The screen tells you the exact error. In Emulator Setup....there is a setting called Zip/7-Zip/GoodMerge which is a registered feature only. Since not using a registered version then this setting must be set to No.

This setting is used for goodmerge roms where 7-zip compression method is used. It is also useful for roms that are in zip format but the emulator itself doesn't support compressed roms. This is rare as most emulators support compressed roms.

I might add that none of the paths have been modified from the initial install of GameEx. Once you have an installed emulator, you have to tell GameEx where to find its ROMs, Snaps, etc. You may have MAME running OK inside of MAME, but as you can see from the paths that display "does not exist" or "no files found" that you have not performed any configuration of GameEx to point to where the files are.

As with any frontend, you must tell it where to look if the files are not in the default location that it is looking. You may wish to review the documentation for setup, etc. located here first. If you need some help along the way, we are here for you. Welcome!

Just import the configs for those emulators. Then change the filters to suite your needs. That would be the easiest solution. As far as needing help with those systems, we need more info. Like what emulators are you using? Stuff like that. If you can't make them work then export your configs so we can see what you're doing. Look at "How to ask for Help" written by our mod Tempest on how to do so.

The 3d cabinets can be downloaded from GameEx's site found here. There is no Torrent for them. They are updated frequently as they are being converted from a different format to work in GameEx. So this would be the best place to get them. As for video files, the best thing to do is get them from EmuMovies. Since that's where they all come from anyways.

Hi guys. I too, am having problems figuring out how to add emulators. In particular, I really want to add MESS. Can some PLEASE provide step by step instructions on how to add MESS to GameEX? I *think* I added it to the correct paths but there are so many different options for paths and other stuff, that I'm just confused at this point. :(

"How to setup an emulator in GameEx" by Tempest might be useful to get you started. Depending on what you need or want then feel free to ask. Seems like this is all new to you so you're gonna have to put in some work and some learning to get you going. ;)

Frequency you are awesome man! Thanks for providing that link I'm gonna check it out.

Oh and keep up the excellent work you're doing we all appreciate it :)

I GOT IT!!!

Tempest thanks a bunch for writing that guide. I finally figured out how to add MESS to GameEX. It required some tweaks and modifications to the normal process of setting it up, for example since I'm using the ClientServer MESS, I had to type vmessuid.exe instead of mess.exe for the "working path", as well as selecting the proper path for my roms. But it is working beautifully now. Tempest you and Frequency are doing a SPECTACULAR job! Thanks again for all your help, and I'll post when I have more questions :)
