So, I've installed the lates GameEx as I always do.

When I choose a game, the ambience.mp3 doesn't fade out quick enough so the last bit of the fade gets looped in the background. It stops for a moment when the MAME copyright window shows, but after pressing OK it comes back again.

I'm currently using Zetamame32 instead of MAME32+, but I don't see how that's the cause of this?

Also, a some of my settings, which theme GameEx uses and "use advanced graphics" are altered. I had these issues before when I used to choose "setup only for games", but now I haven't done that for about 5 versions or so, so I find it weird.

The start page:

I'm missing items. Favorites and exit are missing, and they are both enabled.

And I can't get windowed mode to work at all. I enable it in configuration, then run GameEx (which then opens in fullscreen) and when I re-enter configuration, it's set to Fullscreen. Somehow, it magically changes back. I've tried and tried. But will try again.

It sounds like you setup GameEx in MCE MAME mode possibly? I'm not sure why favorites and exit are missing. Are you sure there enabled now? Maybe you changed your resolution and you need to scroll down. MCE Mode turns on flat menus. I am pretty sure that's what you've done.

Was windowed mode working before this verions. What resolution are you running at. Windowed mode will automatically go to full screen if running at a low resolution.

As I said I doubt anything to do with 5.26 in particular, sounds like you selected MCE MAME mode in the setup.

Very strange about the start page. Not seen that before. Post your gameex.ini and Ill take a look.

Love the theme by the way. If you wanted to share it Ill include it in the GameEx install. Your choice though.

I'll post my ini tonight when I'm home from work.

About the theme, I think I will wait with posting it, since there are ongoing changes (font sizing, resolution issues etc) that really messes up my theme for different users.

I just tried 5.29 with the start page issues remaining.

Try these changes (seperatly)

Change Show Start Page First to Enabled

Change Font Size to one of the new valid values, -1 is no longer supported. Try -2 or -3

Also try using one of the predefined languages instead of custom.

Let me know which one fixes it.

EDIT: The ArcadeAmbience issue is fixed in the latest version. Go grab it.

Again, if you could be a little careful when naming a specific version, it would help. Alternativly, point out what youve changed or tried for the first time.

Okay, I'll be more careful. It's just that everything worked before installing 5.26, and I didn't change anything in my language settings, and did NOT edit any of the text fields. I'm 100% positive about this. That's why I blamed the installation.
