1. What's the best way to port GameEX, I just built my Win7 MAME machine and have to port GameEX to it. I don't feel like setting everything up again. All my roms..etc are set for C: Root.

Do I have to install GameEX to register with Windows XP or can I just copy it over?

2. I have yet to get Laserdisc working..I would like to create a custom Menu on this new system and add all the Arcade Emus on the start page and Consoles under Console Emulators.

Should I setup everything first then use that Custom Menu program? How does it know where everything is located?

3. Is there a good tutorial on the Custom Menu? I just want the Arcade stuff on the start page , that's it really. I wish there was a yes or no when setting up the Emus in GameEX that asked "Show on start page". Yes or No

Thanks

I have started a thread regarding Working with Custom Menus. I am not aware of any tutorials hence the thread. I have posted a few pics that may help you to get started and will be glad to answer what I can to get you started.

I think it would be best to install fresh those emulators that require making updates to your system registry to function. I would start one at a time, get it working, then on to the next. You should be able to copy your directories for your ROMS, Snaps, etc. to the same location on the new PC as the old.

So long as you have your original registration you can install GameEx run it to register your copy on the new PC. I think it would be best to install fresh those emulators that require making updates to your system registry to function.

If you want to copy your setup to another computer, you can simply copy the GameEx directory in it's entirety and then reinstall over top. Be careful to get all paths updated correctly or you will get errors that could cause crashes.
