Adultery
It's gonna be a little while before I can play.@Tom: Can you add my flag to the gamercard? Or would I have to remake it?
fRequEnCy
Latest beta, Windows XP. I can create vanilla MAME's config just fine with command line though so who knows. Maybe someone can post theirs so I can see what is needed in that file and I can make my own?Or can I use the MAME ini and just change it to make this work?Here ya go Adultery. It's a new (unedited) config. Click on spoiler and copy and paste contents and save as mame.ini. Posted contents instead of uploading to save on my upload space and so others can view the contents. <UNADORNED0> ## CORE CONFIGURATION OPTIONS#readconfig 1writeconfig 0## CORE SEARCH PATH OPTIONS#rompath romssamplepath samplesartpath artworkctrlrpath ctrlrinipath .;inifontpath .cheatpath cheatcrosshairpath crosshair## CORE OUTPUT DIRECTORY OPTIONS#cfg_directory cfgnvram_directory nvrammemcard_directory memcardinput_directory inpstate_directory stasnapshot_directory snapdiff_directory diffcomment_directory comments## CORE STATE/PLAYBACK OPTIONS#state autosave 0playback record mngwrite aviwrite wavwrite snapname %g/%isnapsize autosnapview internalburnin 0## CORE PERFORMANCE OPTIONS#autoframeskip 0frameskip 0seconds_to_run 0throttle 1sleep 1speed 1.0refreshspeed 0## CORE ROTATION OPTIONS#rotate 1ror 0rol 0autoror 0autorol 0flipx 0flipy 0## CORE ARTWORK OPTIONS#artwork_crop 0use_backdrops 1use_overlays 1use_bezels 1## CORE SCREEN OPTIONS#brightness 1.0contrast 1.0gamma 1.0pause_brightness 0.65## CORE VECTOR OPTIONS#antialias 1beam 1.0flicker 0## CORE SOUND OPTIONS#sound 1samplerate 48000samples 1volume 0## CORE INPUT OPTIONS#coin_lockout 1ctrlr mouse 0joystick 1lightgun 0multikeyboard 0multimouse 0steadykey 0offscreen_reload 0joystick_map autojoystick_deadzone 0.3joystick_saturation 0.85natural 0uimodekey auto## CORE INPUT AUTOMATIC ENABLE OPTIONS#paddle_device keyboardadstick_device keyboardpedal_device keyboarddial_device keyboardtrackball_device keyboardlightgun_device keyboardpositional_device keyboardmouse_device mouse## CORE DEBUGGING OPTIONS#log 0verbose 0update_in_pause 0debug 0debugscript debug_internal 0## CORE MISC OPTIONS#bios cheat 0skip_gameinfo 1server 0client 0hostname 127.0.0.1port 5805## WINDOWS DEBUGGING OPTIONS#oslog 0watchdog 0debugger_font "Lucida Console"debugger_font_size 9## WINDOWS PERFORMANCE OPTIONS#priority 0multithreading 0numprocessors autoprofile 0## WINDOWS VIDEO OPTIONS#video d3dnumscreens 1window 1maximize 0keepaspect 1prescale 1effect nonewaitvsync 0syncrefresh 0## DIRECTDRAW-SPECIFIC OPTIONS#hwstretch 1## DIRECT3D-SPECIFIC OPTIONS#d3dversion 9filter 1## PER-WINDOW VIDEO OPTIONS#screen autoaspect autoresolution autoview autoscreen0 autoaspect0 autoresolution0 autoview0 autoscreen1 autoaspect1 autoresolution1 autoview1 autoscreen2 autoaspect2 autoresolution2 autoview2 autoscreen3 autoaspect3 autoresolution3 autoview3 auto## FULL SCREEN OPTIONS#triplebuffer 0switchres 0full_screen_brightness 1.0full_screen_contrast 1.0full_screen_gamma 1.0## WINDOWS SOUND OPTIONS#audio_latency 2## INPUT DEVICE OPTIONS#dual_lightgun
bkenobi
There's nothing wrong with posting the file this way; however, if you ever come close to filling up your upload space, Tom will just add more.

antman23
downloaded and installed.. i will check back every now and then in the 'net play' option to see if anyone is online.. Over time this will hopefully become more active, once users work out how to use it if i request a game and go back and play another game (one player) is it going to prompt me that someone wants to play?by the way, in the interim i would also check out 'gppo' there isn't a lot of games you can play (around 30) but it's lag free and very active - which is the main thing.I have integrated this in to game ex and launch it as an external app, but I hope this other integrated version becomes more active soon

I was hoping it would be a bit more active by now but it probably didnt help me moving the topic to the other forum which I moved back this morning. Adultery
I just wish I could get it to work. I can't seem to make it create my config file...
chrisqc
I just wish I could get it to work. I can't seem to make it create my config file... for those who have vista or windows seven you have to execute the command promp in "administrator mode" for the mame.ini put your file somewhere like c:\vmame then in the command prompt type cd.. cd.. cd.. til you are in the c:\ only ..then type cd vmame now the vmame folder is on so imput the command vmame.exe -cc ,if you did it in admin mode it will work and your file should be in your vmame folder
Tom Speirs
Just for info. I never created a config and it always worked for me. I dont believe a config is required if you already have one for another mame build.

Yes I was aware you weren't askin but I was just commenting on your comment. as i said somewhere in the begining of this thread... a well writen guide is needed for gameex user ,see this is not some user friendly stuff héh ! i'm not a newb and did got a hard time make that work a good guide where it explain if mame.ini is needed or not, where to put file etc etc this is an awesome feature ! i like it alot but why not make this simple so there may be more people comming to play
Tom Speirs
That would really fall under a MAME guide rather then GameEx I would think.
