I have been using GameEX now fro a while, and is by far thea easiest out of the box front end I have used. I had previously been using a custom built MameWah menu layout before switching.

As much as I have enjoyed using GameEx, I have been wanting a simpler menu system. Is there a way to strip it down, I have messed around with custom themese a bit, but so far I have been pretty bad at getting one set up.

So to make a short story long, I found this at BYOAC forums and this person used Mala I believe, but I love the simplicity of the menu. Any way to make something similiar with GameEx?

I'm not sure if I understand the question completely, but you can build your own custom menu layout. You can put anything you want in any folder system you want. Or, you can use flat menus to have everything all combined a bit more.

I just added a simple arcade theme to the "User Submitted Themes & Media" thread you might want to check out.

Thank looks great, I will have to download it and give it a shot. I may have to tweak the graphics to my preference and see if I can manage not to destroy it.

Thanks!

I realized you can make your own menus, but in my attempts with the theme editor...... lets just say they were not very successful. A bit of a learning curve to figure out how to edit the themes. It has been about4-5 years since I messed around with making a Mamewah theme, and I struggled with that back then as well.

Is the theme editor available for a standalone download, rather than the full GameEx package? I just want GameEx on my arcade cabinet, but not on my main desktop PC.

You can import Mamewah layouts into the theme editor.
