Finally got VisualPinball to work

I had the problem where the VP table would not come to the front of the screen. I started writing my own vpauto app when I discovered GameEx wasn't launching it at all. I found the following problem..

I had to change:

AlsoLaunch=[appath]\vpauto.exe

to

AlsoLaunch=vpauto.exe

If you have made the same error by copying the config posted by oxbow in the "user config" forum, you will need to make the same change.

Finally solved that mystery!

Also, a question for Tom, why does vpauto.exe stay resident after it brings the "Visual Pinball Player" window to the front? Shouldn't it just exit after it's job is done?

I am a total n00b but I am running vp-man which is a front end similiar to vplauncher. I can select a table using a gamepad in vp-man but after I select it visual pinball comes to the front and the table is in the back. Perhaps there is a way to run visual pinball without a front end like vplauncher or vp-man but I don't know how to do it and still be able to select all the tables. I wish gamex could import them like it does with mame.

headkaze could you upload your config file for gamex. I specifically am having problems with vp. I saw your other post but I am still doing something wrong. thanks

What problem exactly you have.

one thing: in the also launch yo have to put the full path to vpauto.exe i think
