You have got to be kidding me!!

I just got done playing GameEx and went to run the Advanced Config program and it erased my GameEx config. All my setting for my emulators are totally gone now. WTF ........ I kid you not that has to be the most worst thing ever now I have to set it all over again!!!!

What I mean by it erased my settings as GameEx has gone back like I just installed it and all the emulators are blank and I have to config all of them all over again. Hmmmmm not very happy right now I have a backup but it's an older one and I still have to tweak some of the settings.

Don't ask me what happened Tom as my system is virus free and it happened just like I said. I was playing some games in GameEx and exit out and when I double clicked the advanced configuation program is erased everything as all the emulators and other options are all blank.

Go figure...

Yeah not much you can do Tom as it is very hard to figure out what went wrong. Oh well I needed to clean it up anyways.

This time when I get it all done I'll backup the entire folder. :)

Same thing just happened to me. smile.gif

GameEx.ini:

csv=C:\GameEx\config\config.csv

ini=C:\GameEx\config\gameex.ini

Yep, that's the whole thing!

BackGround:

I had two copies of GameEx on my computer, having recently Installed a new copy to the recommended C:/

I had just renamed the old copy in the programs\GameEx folder to GameEx.old, to see if I could delete the old folder

I tried to start GameEx, and it crashed saying unable to support (whatever) Font in bold. Sorry, don't remember the exact error, or font name, but I wasn't using that font, I use Verdana.

I renamed the old Programs\GameEx.old back to GameEx, and GameEx started.

I ran '005' in Mame, and then exited.

Focus wouldn't return to GameEx, so I shut it down using the task manager.

If I can do anything to help, let me know.

Krackermann - My 'GameEx.UpgradeBackup.ini' looks about right, you should look at yours.

Crikey, I'm backing up my gameex folder right now, if it can happen to Tempest, it can happen to anyone :)

The same thing happened to me twice in the past week. I thought it was down to my son switching my machine off via the plug on the wall while gameex was running! . My gameex.ini file became an empty file

Hopefully this is resolved in the latest version, I did find one or two minor problems.

Minor problems??? ROFLMAO smile.gif

Well at least I'm not an isolated case as it appears to be happening to others as well. Hopefully Tom can find what is causing it and squash this ugly bug.
