The bezel files must be left in the zip format. Then it must be called in MAME which you say you have done. How are you calling the bezels? Are you using a command-line parameter or do you have your settings in the mame.ini file? Please give more details on how you have things setup and we can get you going.

I tried keeping it in zip format. it works i am using MAMEUI32 it works when i run it while having MAMEUI32 open and picking games through there but when i choose it in gameex the default gameex bezel is still there is there anyway of changing that?

i downloaded the bezels and kept them zipped, and placed them in the artwork folder for the emulator in my case i had a folder called artworkgameex so i placed the zipped bezel files in there and then you have to go to set up gameex and then set up mame and where it says use bezel i had to turn it off so that it wouldn't use the default bezel that gameex comes with

Thank you. smile.gif

so i'm really kinda pissed off ever since the new update of gameex i installed last night rather it did on its own i cant play some of my games and all the hours i spent trying to get bezels to work and finally got it are down the drain they dont work anymore? how can i go back to how it was before this update or what?

There is really no going back, unless you have an old installation exe. There is a setting in 'Enable/Disable Features (1) - Enable Auto GameEx Updates'. You can set it to 'Disable Automatic Updates', and then Download and install when YOU want to. Save your installation exe, then if you want to go back, you will have the option to do so...

BTW: Tom is usually pretty quick to fix, if there is a bug.

A system restore perhaps will put things back the way there were? GameEx shouldn't have affected the bezels so maybe something small got changed and your settings are still there. Just need to do some testing.

That folder you left your bezels in is the one GameEx puts the bezels it generates into. I actually keep my custom designed bezels in the GameEx intall folder (DATA I think it is). If you don't want to see your bezels verwritten you need to change them to read only and manually install updates. You also want to keep your MAME bezels in a different folder than the one you point GameEx at (I use artwork for genuine bezels and artworkgameex for the ones GameEx generates for the screen saver).

Any more questions, feel free to ask.
