is there a way to set the default view for the themes? I like to use the list instead of the default of thumbnails.

You can do it in the configuration app. Although it will change when you select Change View from the menu within GameEx. The default is list. Its changed by selecing "Change View" menu item.

Think it may ever remember the last view on a per page basis? IE thumbnails for pics, and List for games?
