Could you just try uninstalling .net framework 2. temporarily just to confirm that is actually the problem.

Thanks.

ive uninstalled .net 2 and it still seems to do it, though it did manage to load one sms game. then did not do it again. could it be to do with the show desktop bit. the emu is loading and stopping straight away. though nothing is being pressed.

i think i have found the problem, it is when you turn keyboard mapping on for the emus. the mame works until you try to load a emu game and then it starts returning to ex. when i turn this off then the game loads fine, ive only tryed the snes one so far. im now using the 6.00 beta but it still appears to do this i dont know if anyone else is having this problem. hope this helps.

Posted
is it just me with this problem or am i doing something wrong with it ?

From what you've wrote I am not entirely sure exactly the problem your having. I dont find it easy to understand your posts.

Could you please try explaining a little better and please differentiate between emus launching such as SNES and also MAME launching games.

its the same problem as the thread are emus loading or not, there is a problem with the map keyboard commands setting in some emulators. which makes them jump right back out again. i did not used to have this problem in the past releases. so might be something you have introduced.

Hi Guys,

I'm new to the forum. I've been using GameEx for the last couple of weeks and I must say this software is excellent. I've paid my donation, waiting for the Key to disable to Nag screen... Anyway... I'm seem to be struggling with Getting Mame working. I have tried various different versions.... (the latest one I'm trying is Mame32FXPP)

The Game List shows up fine, but No Games Launch.... and I don't know why... I have the same problem with Mame (DOS - Latest Version) and MAME32 V0.66... I must be missing something...

My location is c:\emulators\mame

My Roms are: c:\emulators\roms

I can get the other emulators working fine...

Mupen64 for N64

ZSNES for SNES

Gens for Megadrive

WinUAE for Amiga

Visual Gameboy Advance for Gameboy Advance

Any help would greatly be appreciated...

Can you take a look and also post runitgame.bat in program files\gameex\data.

This is what GameEs runs to launch a game. See if it runs on its own outside of GameEx. Also try removing -triplebuffer from the cmd line. You could also try deleting your MAME directory and starting again. There may be some settings that are messing it up. A few of us have had this before.

Sparkles,

Could you please tell me the exact setting your talking about? If its a bug I need to fix it, but I think this is an issue with your setup, not affecting anyone else. Nothing has changed in respect to that in many versions.

Well I managed to Solve it... Seems like Mame wasn't opening at all

I cleared everything from Start and enabled All Game Warnings from the Beginning

Thats when it started to Work.... Hooray

BUT! not all games - So I pointedthe Configuration to load MAME32 - Sorted!!!

Works like a Charm - Yippee.... Thanks TOM for a Great APP

I'm off to play...

the problem is the same one as people are posting in the Games not loading (or are they?), Going crazy thread. i have posted in there. the setting is the map key when its turned on it exits the emu stright away.

hi tom, just tryed the latest version 5.33 and it is still loading the emulator and the exiting after starting the rom back to gamex. it also does this in mame to, i am really stumped as to why i does this the log is normal as gamex starts the emulator fine, not really sure what to try will have to spend some time seeing if other programs are conflicting or the set up is coursing the prob, dont know if anyone else is still having this problem.

Hello,

I am also having a problem getting mame to start. GamEx will see my folders and even shows my ROMs (well, actually only a third of them - I am using MAME .102b and the corresponding ROM set). Everything indicates that it will work fine until I choose to play a ROM. It goes to a black screen and then comes back to the GamEx screen. When using the Emuloader frontend, all of my ROMS show up and they are all playable. This is frustrating because GamEx is such a nicer frontend and I would really like to switch over to it once I can get it to work.

I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks!

Hi, new here and have just installed gameex and experiencing the same problem.

I checked the logs and everything seems fine. Roms, snaps etc show up fine in gameex.

I'm using net 1.1 and have never installed 2.0 so I don't think its that.

I think the problem is in launching MAME using CMD. I duplicated using start-Run the CMD line used by gameex (got it from the logfile)

This was the original and did not work

cmd.exe /c c: c:\mame32\mame32fxpp.exe 1941 -rompath c:\mame32\roms

This worked though...

cmd.exe /c c:\mame32\mame32fxpp.exe 1941 -rompath c:\mame32\roms

Note that simply deleting the c: made it work?

This also worked...(adding a couple of advanced option switches)

cmd.exe /c c:\mame32\mame32fxpp.exe 1941 -rompath c:\mame32\roms -nowindow -joy

Hope this helps...the gameex FE looks great and can;twait to see it in action...

I'm closing this topic. It seems almost everyone seems to post here when they cant get mame or some other emulator to work, which is often for a ton of different reasons (seperate problems) with seperate solutions.

Dynamic, for your particular problem, note that the line is not actually what GameEx runs. Look at Run Last Game in the program group and edit that batch file, to see exactly what GameEx does when it launches the game. If you add pause to that file and your using the regulalr command line version of MAME you should hopefully see the error MAME gives.
