GameEx Hangs at loading - videos not playing

Hello everyone. After having GameEx working perfectly as my media center front end for months, things have gone downhill. I believe this started after the last update but I can't be sure. One day I started GameEx and it stayed at the loading screen until I tried to kill the process through task manager. Once I did that things worked except no videos play in the emulator preview screens. However the movie previews play just fine and everything launches okay. So, my question is, am I the only one this is happening to? I am running Vista x64 and like I said I have had GameEx running perfectly for a while now. I tried other themes than the custom theme I am using and the same thing happens. Also, it appears that my Windows Media Player isn't working correctly as it crashes when trying to play movies- not sure if the problem is related. I also tried reinstalling GameEx using the same configuration and the same issues continue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
