HumanMan42
I just put together a "new" pc. some nicer hand me down parts from my pops. Without thinking about it I threw on win7. Then I came back to gameEX website and started reading. What are the pro's and cons of having 7 compared to XP?I see (at least the one thats in the shelling page) you cannot shell win7.I am looking around a bit more to see if there is any other things I might want to know.I figured that you guys might know something I might not, even after doing some routine research. A quick question for ya, what flavor of Win 7 are you running? I am running on Win 7 Pro 64-bit. You may find that there are 64-bit versions of emus that will run better, even though Win7 does a fine job of supporting 32-bit programs.r example, I use the GUI version of Mame (previously known as Mame32 but now under MameUI with both 32-bit and 62-bit versions).I haven't tried to shell it as this is my desktop I use for other things. I have an older Gateway system that I will likely make into my Mame cab PC once the children move out once again. I was going to use my Toshiba laptop as my Mame machine as kind of a portable console, but decided otherwise.
HumanMan42
I used Win7 Ultimate 32bit. I ended up installing WinXP Pro. I knew how to do everything I wanted to do. Then I shelled it, then attempted to unshell it because whenever I exit GameEX explorer doesnt come back up. Now I am in a pickle and hunting the internet for an answer. The internet is being a finicky little bitch and making me work hard for my answer... Right now the nephew is watching Avatar The Last Air Bender on it.Also, sometimes it freezes when I try to do something with it. like FF a movie or stop it. I might try out windows 7 and have it autoload GameEX...so many options....
