Black screen after exiting game

Hey gang,

The pc in my cab died, so I just finished setting up a new one. I've got everything running again, and re-installed GameEx, but after I exit a game I can see MAME closing, but then I'm just left with a black screen. I can't close it, no alt-tab, no ctl-alt-del, nothing, it's just stuck with the blank screen and doesn't return to the menu. All I can do is reset the computer.

I'm using a AVGA card with a fresh install of XP. Any thought as to what could be wrong? Maybe there's something I forgot to install. It's been a while since I had to do a re-install of GameEx, so I hope it's something simple that I've missed.
