Box Art / Front Cover instead of Snaps?

Hi,

first of all i would say GameEx is an great project (iam an "old" Donater).

My machine running very well and all works finde but i have an simple problem..

I would take my box arts of my emulated games and show them on one site - simply like the original with snaps.

Can i use Front Cover/ Box Arts instead of snaps?

What I do:

Snaps/Previews - snaps or videos

Titles - Box Front

So the Top image will show an ingame shot (or video) and the bottom image will show the box front. If you want the box at the top point snap path to where your boxart are.

Thank you,

new problem - the boxes (now in titles folder) will be shown only in 4:3 and the rest is cutted, can i show them normally in right ratio?

well, im looking for the same thing, a way to select rom by the front cover instead of snap, is there theme that use the front cover dimension for thumbnails?

You can select the path to whatever folder you want GameEx to draw those images from. As for the ratio or size, that is not necessarily theme driven. You may have to modify the display frame within Theme Editor to accomodate the image sizes or scale the images to fit the frame.

Where do you set that option? In the theme?

LOL I guess you are right. It is in the theme, in GameEx by changing the view, and whatever images you are selecting to display. What I was trying to say is that there are multple places where adjustments can be made to achieve the desired outcome and not just something you can use the theme editor only to change. That will take some time and tinkering with the various options available.

If he is wanting to use box covers instead of snaps, then he will need to set the snaps path to whatever directory contains the box art. He may also need to scale the box art to fit better where the snaps are displayed within whatever theme he is using and/or adjust the image frame within the theme to crop the image to his liking, or use an existing theme as a model to create his own.
